Guest: Michael Skurla, Chief Product Officer at Radix IoTIn this episode, Michael joins Uncle Marv to discuss the world of IoT and its impact on IT professionals. A bottle of water in a supermarket costs about .50. The same bottle of water cost $2 in a bar. In a high-quality restaurant or hotel it can be worth up to $3. At an airport or on a plane, you may be charged up to $5. The bottle and the brand is the same, the only thing that changes is the place. Each place gives a different value to the same product. When you feel like you are worth nothing and everyone around you belittles you, change places, do not stay there. Have the courage to change places and go to a place where you are given the value you deserve. Surround yourself with people who really appreciate your worth. We had our hands full with converting 44 workstations from domain computers to remote ones, migrating files from one office to another, and transitioning 51 users to new RDS servers. This included setting up one physical server with two Hyper-V servers. The project is part one of a $150,000 network upgrade. The law firm had seven offices, but due to the pandemic and the shift to remote work, they consolidated their offices. Domotz is a network monitoring platform that helps service providers be more efficient and proactive in handling the systems they deploy on networks. Domotz provides remote connectivity into platforms, configuration backups, and alerts when changes have been made on the infrastructure. Domotz has announced a channel partner program to offer better support, discounts, and tiered pricing. The program aims to create an effective channel where everyone gets their fair share of margins. The benefits of the program include priority support, regular updates, and access to beta features. Domotz has also acquired GlassWire for business, a Windows-based application that sits on a Windows machine and helps the end-user better understand the applications and services that are running on that machine.
