Productivity, Parenting, and Education for Moms with Adult ADHD
Are you overwhelmed by the never-ending to do list of motherhood? Are you burnt out and barely keeping your head above water? Are you confused and frustrated by how all the other moms make it look so easy? And somehow you're still floundering despite trying even harder...
Your purse is as overflowing as your mind, you never feel like a good enough mom, and you don't dare have anyone over to visit to witness your messy home. You just want the best for your kids, but you can't figure out how to manage the chaos, both in your mind and in your house.
Oh, I've been there, mama. Some days, I'm still there. Parenting with ADHD is hard!
We want to be structured for our kids, yet we can't seem to stay consistent even for ourselves. But I'm letting go of everyone else's perception of a "good mom" and stepping into loving who I am a little more each day. Will you join me?
Whether you have ADHD like I do, or think you might, here is your permission slip to let go of the pinterest worthy visions of organization and structure fit for everyone else. Let's do life like our brains do life: creatively, lovingly, and with all your might. Moms with ADHD have a superpower of always trying their best, even when it doesn't pan out.
How do I know? I have known about my ADD for over twenty years, and I want to share all of this hard-earned ADHD knowledge with you, making your adjustment a lot easier and faster than mine was.
What does Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder look like in women? We'll dive into emotional regulation, motivation, executive function, hormones, medication, and natural treatments. Women with ADHD share their diagnosis stories with us, whether inattentive, hyperactive or combined, from childhood through adult diagnoses. We also talk about ADHD's so-called friends like depression, anxiety, addiction, disordered eating, other learning differences, and what I've learned through therapy and CBT.
Science is my jam and learning about how our brains work through the lens of scientific research helps us understand who we are. ADHD is not just for little boys; it looks different in girls.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurological medical condition, not an excuse for lazy, stupid, unmotivated people to not live up to our potential. Let's agree to throw that thought in the trash.
Once we understand how our brains work, we can dive into the practical strategies like structuring our day, minimalism, money, nurturing our relationships, daily rhythms, using a planner, and improving our sleep. I want to help you build your version of a joyful family life.
We talk about everything from ADHD to Zebras, because that is how Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder works: to us, our thoughts are clearly connected, but non-linear to everyone else. I want you to love being a zebra in a world full of horses. We were born as unique, gorgeous creatures, not meant to blend in with the usual nor mundane.
When we embrace who we are and how our brains work, we can figure out how to live out lives successfully and in turn, lead our families well.
At the end of the day, we just want to be good moms. Spoiler alert: you are already a great mom.
If you're ready to see that with your own two eyes, hit play and listen in as we love ourselves a little more each day of our ADHD lives. ADHD does NOT mean you're doomed to be a hot mess, mama!
You CAN rewrite your story from shame spiral to success story, and I'll be right here beside you to cheer you on!

E111: Are You Ready to MASTER Time Management as an ADHD Mom?
Does your day ever feel like you're trying to bake cookies without a recipe and have no idea what's in the pantry? Do we have any clean bowls? What's the oven temp? How do I only have 3 chocolate chips??? And why does everyone else get a laminated recipe card and a fully stocked pantry? Sometimes it can feel like we just can't manage in the real world. We are constantly shown how "normal" people plan, organize, and manage their time -- which never seems to work out for us when we have ADHD. The problem is, we're not normal. We are unique. And we need unique tools that were developed for our uniquely amazing brains to help us feel like we have some semblance of control over our time and our lives. Today we're discussing the 4 reasons we struggle to get everything done, and what we can do about it. I'm sharing the tools I use (and teach!) that help lots of ADHD moms feel capable and confident about how they manage their own time. Yes, it might feel like we're on an energy roller coaster, but when we know how the ride works, and understand the ups & downs a little better, we can prepare ourselves to not only have a successful ride - but also ENJOY it! I'm also sharing the first peek into my new course, Time Management Mastery for ADHD Moms! E108: Decluttering, Homeschooling, and Overcoming Distraction: Your Questions Answered with Allie Casazza
"It doesn't have to be perfect to still be good."- Allie Casazza Today is Part 2 of my interview with The Purpose Show host and minimalist educator Allie Casazza! We dive deep into the questions that YOU asked in our Motherhood in ADHD Facebook community: how to use mental momentum to get and stay motivated. how to channel energy into decluttering instead of schlepping your piles from room to room. how to make homeschooling simple and fun. Allie also tells us her thoughts on staying focused and stopping the overwhelm of decluttering. She also drops a few gems on how to reduce the dreaded paper clutter that comes with parenting. Listen in to see what she suggests! A big thanks to Allie for joining us on the show! I appreciate her heart for helping us ADHD mamas and how she reminded us that things DON'T have to be perfect to be good. If you haven't yet, go back and listen to Part 1 of our chat. Allie and I chatted about how to make our motherhood easier in modern times. She explained her minimalism philosophy about how clutter is a thief - not just of our space in our homes, but our time and our energy. We also talked about the "why" behind decluttering and practical first steps to declutter your home. Don't forget to grab her FIRST book titled Declutter Like a Mother. It releases on September 7th. E107: How to Make Motherhood Easier with Allie Casazza: Minimalism and ADHD
Organization and clutter are huge obstacles for ADHD. When my house is cluttered, my mind is cluttered! The unnecessary junk takes up a significant amount of my mental bandwidth, so I've worked dang hard to get rid of the things that are not serving me. I want to help you do that, too. Today, you're in for a treat! Allie Casazza of The Purpose Show Podcast is here to share her wisdom on decluttering and minimalism for moms. Allie's podcast is the very first podcast I listened to, so she was watering the podcast seeds for Motherhood in ADHD. While Allie doesn't have ADHD herself, she was raised by an ADHD mom, is married to her ADHD spouse, and is a mom herself to 4 kids, and her oldest Bella has ADHD as well. I've gotten to know Allie through her business and podcast mentorship, and I just adore the way she teaches - and you know that as a teacher, I have pretty high standards. Allie's all about figuring out what makes sense for you and your life, and not about doing what everyone else is doing. Her methods are very ADHD-friendly, and her love and compassion for our people and how our brains work simply shines through. Allie and I chatted about how we can make our motherhood easier in modern times -- where support for moms runs thin and social media only shows us everyone else's highlight reels. She explains her minimalism philosophy and how clutter is a thief - not just of our space in our homes, but our time and our energy. We also get into the "why" behind decluttering and talk about practical first steps to declutter your home. She shares how to make decluttering fun, build momentum, and what we can do to reward ourselves for a job well done. Her first book, Declutter Like a Mother, releases September 7th; it's an easy read that makes sense to my ADHD brain. This show is compiled of ALL the good stuff and I am so honored to have Allie as a guest! Listen to the full episode and drop your favorite golden nugget in the comments! Sign up for Allie's signature course, Your Uncluttered Home: bit.ly/Noclutter. E106: Stop Looking For A System to Solve Your Problems! Why Buying Another New Planner Will Not Make You Organized When You Have ADHD
There's a perfect system that will work for YOU...but spoiler alert - you won't find it on a shelf at target. The BEST way to find a daily planning system that works for you is to CREATE EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED. Instead of trying planner after unused planner, and forcing them to sorta work, let's make the unique system that fits your life. While it may feel overwhelming at first, when we have help, we can learn to develop systems that work FOR us instead of feeling like a failure because we wasted yet another notebook and feel no closer to success. If we expect a tool, i.e. some random planner, to teach us how to be organized, we'll continually be disappointed by this inanimate object that can't solve our organizational woes! The moral of the story: we can definitely find ways to plan, organize, and execute tasks that work for our ADHD brains when we have a plan to use the system. "How I am going to stick with this, Patricia???" Don't worry - I got you! This is why Daily Planning for ADHD Moms includes a weekly group call. Together you will feel supported and encouraged to continue to make progress on your new habits and the changes you're making in your life. Community is key - and there's so much power when you know and communicate with other mamas who are just like you. You'll no longer feel like you're alone on an ADHD mom island! Having that connection with other mamas who know EXACTLY what you're going through every week makes ALL the difference. And it's what students who take the course say is their favorite part. Yes, they find great success with the modules and tools inside the course but having that actual connection and support is something you can look forward to every week. I know you want to learn, feel seen, and get the advice and tools you need to create a system you know will work FOR YOU! You can do it - we can help! E105: Daily Productivity Coaching from Moms with ADHD: How To Plan Your Day Without Losing Your Mind and Still Having Fun - STUDENTS TELL ALL
No matter if you're a full-time working mama, a mom who's also a full-time student, or if you're a stay-at-home or work-from-home mum - if you have ADHD, you can use this framework. Today we hear it straight from students of my Daily Planning for ADHD Moms course. They share how it worked for them and what happened when they created a system that works for them. Because they know even when, (not if, but when) they fall off track, any baby step they take forward is STILL a step in the right direction. We talk about what it's like when you have a foundational system in place and how much easier it can be when life happens and you need to adjust to new changes - because let's face it, our lives are ALWAYS changing. I'm honored to share this episode that highlights some of my amazing students who did the work and made the changes they needed to work WITH their ADHD brains instead of against it! These mamas united together, went through the content in their own way, all while connecting with each other on a deeper level every week at our weekly meet-ups. The Daily Planning for ADHD Moms course taught them how they can take control of their own lives and now they've developed their own habits that keep them feeling capable and confident when planning out their everyday lives. You'll hear real ADHD mamas talk about their "ah-ha" moments, discuss their favorite aspects of the course, and tell us all about what they appreciate most by having a framework they can use every day. They started out feeling confused, helpless, and hopeless, and they finished feeling supported and seen. Now, they have all the tools they need to tackle their plan, even when life throws them a curveball. From daily & weekly check-ins to being diligent about communicating the plan to their families, these mamas are more mindful and understand what a big difference ADHD planning can make for them. E104: The ONE Thing that Makes Your Daily Planning a Success when You Have ADHD
We can be successful with ADHD when we start living purposefully like we have ADHD. The obstacles pop up like weeds when we try to live life like we don’t have ADHD. I pretended like I could be "ADHD-free" for many years. And I failed over and over. I finally realized that THIS is what I needed in order to successfully plan my day with ADHD. When we think about what systems we should have in place, we need to consider what works for an ADHD brain. If we don't consider how our brains process differently, we will always be trying to jam a round peg into a square hole. Creating a plan that actually WORKS for the ADHD brain means sometimes we have to chisel out a square hole on our own! "Neurotypical planning" is difficult for many of us - because it wasn't meant for us! The system I've created with the ADHD brain in mind makes planning actually achievable. Now, I'm not saying it's easy...and I'm not saying it doesn't take some guided effort. What I am saying is there is a way, a system, that I can show you that will help! Join me, and more ADHD mamas, in my **Daily Planning for ADHD Moms** course and weekly accountability group. Let's get your calendar and to-do list organized and create a plan for your day. E103: Do you feel like your ADHD Brain is keeping you from keeping up? Learning to work with your ADHD instead of against it
It's frustrating when we can't seem to align what we want to accomplish with our energy levels or create a line of sight to the end goal. It can be defeating, but I'm here for you! You are not alone and there are so many mamas here rooting for you. There ARE ways you can work WITH your ADHD brain to maximize your output while you manage the energy roller coaster that is living with ADHD as a mama. And as much as our well-meaning neurotypical friends try to help us with comments like, "Well, just use a planner" or "Pay more attention" - it falls flat because our brains don't work that way. But when we understand how our ADHD brains function best, we can create and implement systems made for our brains to support our success. One of the best things I've found for mamas like us is having a support system of other women to whom we can relate. There's freedom in being in a group of women who we know won't laugh at us when we say we have to set a reminder to "eat lunch" or we'll forget... Because it's likely they do the same thing! That's what my **Daily Planning for ADHD Moms** course and accountability group are all about. I'll be there to help you get your foundations in place and guide you when you get off track. It's time to feel confident and capable when planning your day. You can feel successful while navigating life with your ADHD brain! And I'm here to help! You can control the chaos. Here's your official invite to join me and more ADHD mamas in my **Daily Planning for ADHD Moms** course and weekly accountability group.
