Jill Scott MBE - how cross country running shaped her England football career
Today's guest is the former England women's footballer Jill Scott MBE, who was part of the Euro winning squad in 2022. She's also a winner of I'm a Celebrity...and also winner of the junior Great North Run and the North East Junior Cross Country Championships. We recorded this ahead of a charity quiz we were all part of.
Jill talks about her junior running career and what it taught her along with the influences it had on her successful 16 year football career.
She still runs, but she struggles to run more than 5k because of injuries to her knees from playing football. Jill also reveals Paula was her idol growing up...and wanted to be an athlete because of her.
Paula tells Thommo she always goes on a run on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to consider resolutions and goals for the 12 months ahead. And she's got advice on how to keep yours!
We love to hear from you! Drop us a line if you want to get on the Honours Board.
