The Leadership Killer | US Navy SEAL John Havlik | Episode 108
Bad-boss behavior stems from all-too-common leadership tendencies we carry within us: hubris, arrogance, and a proclivity to abuse power. Let them go unchecked for too long, and your reign as a leader is toast. In a world where leadership seems to be about who’s the loudest and most outlandish, we’re all one step away from being that “leader gone wild.”
Captain John "Coach" Havlik, U.S. Navy SEAL (Retired), led special operations teams around the world during his 31-year naval career, including the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, the SEAL’s most elite operational unit. Applying Conscious Leadership | Michael Bianco-Splann | Episode 107
Today’s leaders have many faces. From pedal-to-the-medal startups to behemoth multinational corporations, those in various leadership roles have one thing in common: they’re all burning out. A 2013 study of C-Suite executives and senior managers found that roughly 80 percent of respondents felt overworked, overloaded, powerless, and unrewarded. Fast forward to 2019, and in some industries, such as healthcare, burnout is so extreme it could have pushed 51 percent of executives to leave their jobs. And just this May, the World Health Organization recognized this crisis by expanding its definition of occupational burnout in the ICD-11 International Classification of Diseases. Those leaders who did not burn out, practiced conscious leadership in their daily lives.
Michael Bianco-Splann is a conscious leadership expert, inspirational speaker, and master certified corporate trainer with over 30 years of front-line executive experience. He offers a transformative approach to leadership—within Fortune 100 companies to small boutique enterprises—for those seeking a life that’s true to one’s passion and purpose. He is the author of Conscious Leadership: 7 Principles That Will Change Your Business and Change Your Life.

Talking about Leading Through the COVID-19 Crisis
The COVID-19 crisis has rocked the world. Here I just take a couple of quick minutes talk about my thoughts on how we can lead through the crisis. As well, I show that even as experienced as we get we can make mistakes, such like forgetting to plug in your studio microphone and not recording with your laptop one.
Nonetheless it's about the content and not the audio quality... all the time.

The Strategy Mindset 2.0 | Chuck Bamford | Episode 105
Far too many organizations formulate their strategy with antiquated approaches designed to make everyone feel good, and then fail to implement anything meaningful. Ineffective strategies, assessed using assumptions rather than quantifiable metrics, muddy organizations’ abilities to hone an identity that will make them stand out. Developing goals around the business’s true competitive advantages — determined using a five-factor test — will distinguish them in the eye of the customer and result in extraordinary returns.
Chuck Bamford, Ph.D., is a strategy consultant who has worked with hundreds of organizations to develop and implement a compelling strategy. In his role as a professor for the past 25 years at Texas Christian University, University of Richmond, University of Notre Dame, Duke University and others, he has been honored with 22 Professor of the Year awards.
The Strategy Mindset 2.0 Topics
During our conversation, Chuck and I discuss the following topics:
