This episode is the final part of a two-part interview!   Edina Clagett of Beyoutiful Portraits is an Accredited Award Winning Portrait Photographer, who has received multiple awards from The Portrait Masters Association for the past 4 years. She has also been voted Best Portrait Photographer of Fort Collins in 2019 & 2020. She was born in Hungary, moved to the US in 1999, and now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. Her love of portraiture started in her 20’s when she traveled the world with a backpack and visited over 30+ 3rd World countries capturing unique cultures and their people. With the birth of her twins in 2010, she decided to do photography professionally. After a lot of studying and soul-searching, she has fallen in love with Womens’ Portraiture. Her mission became helping everyday women overcome their fear of the camera & start existing in photos. Her goal is to empower women by showing them the most incredible photos they have ever seen of themselves so they can ultimately embark on a journey toward self-love and self-acceptance! Her work keeps making a difference in the way women see themselves, raising their self-confidence and self-worth! Her sessions are way more than just a photoshoot! Derek Cabrera (PhD, Cornell), an internationally known systems scientist, is faculty at Cornell University who teaches systems thinking, leadership, and mapping. He is senior scientist at Cabrera Research Lab, Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of Plectica, and inventor of the Plectica systems mapping software.  He was Research Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute (SFI) for the Study of Complex Systems and NSF IGERT Fellow in Nonlinear Systems in the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at Cornell University. Cabrera developed and patented a suite of systems thinking tools for use in academia, business, and beyond. An award-winning arts educator, singer/songwriter, and non-profit entrepreneur, Lane uses the power of music and creativity to facilitate healing and growth in individuals and communities suffering from trauma. For nearly three decades, Lane has devoted her life’s work to helping herself and others learn how to transform their personal experiences of trauma into powerful works of art. Her passion for the human journey and cultivating connection through our shared experiences led her to develop a therapeutic and collaborative songwriting program that merges creativity, self-expression, healing, and community. She went on to study classical voice and musical theater at both Baldwin-Wallace College and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (CCM). As a professional singer/actor, she starred in leading roles, including Eliza in My Fair Lady at Lyric Opera Cleveland, Laura in The Glass Menagerie at Seaside Music Theater, and the title role in Antigone at The WestEnd Theater in NYC. Between her performances, she taught after-school arts programs, offered private voice and piano lessons, and started developing programming and workshops to help others feel better about themselves and their journeys through their experiences in the arts. Now, instead of finding solace on the stage and in other people’s stories, she began to delve into her own stories, taking up songwriting with a fury. Transforming her past into powerful works of art was a catalyst for healing and the marriage of her many gifts and talents. She released her debut album entitled Fertile Ground in 2015 on her own record label, Third Road Records. Lane now devotes her passion and work to helping those who suffer from trauma through her therapeutic arts non-profit organization, THREAD. THREAD is a 501(c)(3) therapeutic arts non-profit organization that serves the needs of survivors of abuse, those struggling with addiction and mental health, cancer survivors, incarcerated men and women, veterans, and those impacted by inequality and discrimination surrounding gender, race, sexuality, and religion. Leading figure of opposition to Mobutu: first independently (1975-1990), then in various international leadership positions in the UDPS, the leading opposition party (1990-1997). NON-PROFIT & SOCIAL IMPACT LEADERSHIP Founding President of the President Joseph Kasa-Vubu Fund (1997-Present), a non-profit institution active in education, education through sport, humanitarian & medical assistance. In 1997, Justine M’Poyo Kasa-Vubu is the first Congolese political figure ever to set up a foundation aimed at social impact to help address some of the most pressing social issues of the nation.
