#418 WP Tonic Show With Special Guest Kurt von Ahnen
Kurt von Ahnen was a precocious young man raised in a Philadelphia suburb. A non-conformist of sorts, he announced in third grade that he wanted to author a book. He was told that since he didn’t even do his language arts work, it would never happen. In 7th grade, Kurt had a paper route. When one boy failed to arrive to get his papers for the route – he took the route over, then another, then another. What the newspaper branch manager didn’t place together was that Kurt had franchised the paper routes and was paying other boys only a portion of the routes as he was covering the collecting and accounting. In High School he was told with the rest of the class to write a report on where he’d go to college. Having already been made the manager of a local furniture store, he said he’d pass on college as he was already making more than the teacher. After all, in the 80’s, more than 80% of the people making more than $50,000.00 per year were in retail. So why go to college. In his senior year, he was invited to leave his high school and told he would never amount to anything. Finally, in 2007, he made the leap and followed through on the dream from 3rd grade. He published Service Writing in Black and White changing the trajectory of his career. He’s gone on to become a John Maxwell Certified Leadership Speaker and Coach. He’s managed the training departments for two of the most prestigious Powersports companies and grown his own Leadership Academy. He speaks to youth whenever possible – urging them to chase their dreams. Never let someone tell you can’t do something Kurt von Ahnen http://manananomas.com/

#412 WP-Tonic Show With Special Guest Billy Bross Linchpin Media
About Billy To the outside world, it didn’t make any sense why I was leaving my career. I had an MBA and a thriving career as a consultant in the energy industry. I was working with important clients like the Department of Energy, Native American tribes, and Fortune 500 companies. I led the financial modeling for industrial-scale, cutting-edge energy projects. Think solar power, wind power, and that sort of thing. It was an interesting and rewarding career, but deep down, I was looking for something more. I wanted to do something I was passionate about. Something of my own. So I did. After I came home from those long days in the office, I started a blog around a fun hobby of mine: brewing beer at home. To my surprise, beer drinkers from all over the world began to discover it. The web traffic grew and grew. Before I knew it, I had built one of the top beer blogs in the internet. My readers particularly loved my home-brewing tips. So, one day, I decided to try something crazy and sell an online course. People actually bought it! Yes, they actually paid me money over the internet for something I created. And they loved it. https://linchpin.media/ #1 - What is based on your experience the major key marketing tool or technique that leads to success connected to membership website? #2 - So an email list is really important connected to success have you got some key tips connected to how you can build an effective list? #3 - What are some of the key mistakes you see your clients making consistency before you start working with them? #4 - You're not a big fan of Udemy way? #5 - Do you feel that the learning market is getting more competitive if yes, is it still possible to build a successful membership website from the ground up? #6 - Have you got any tips and tricks that you like to share with the audience? #WordPress #MembershipWebsites #OnlineBusiness

#410 WP-Tonic Show: How To Deal With Churn Connected to Your Membership Website
Why people leave: ● See no value within first billing period ● Do not see equivalent value within first billing period ● Overwhelmed by the product, so much to do, so little time ● Run out of money For example… Membership Site, buys access, logs in, 100 things to do, can’t figure out where to start, cancels and leaves because it’s too overwhelming. Same can be applied to a software company, LMS site. For product stores Churn can be the amount of first time buyers who don’t return Ways to ensure people stay ● Ensure they see equivalent value within the first billing period ○ Be available for questions ○ Provide constant guidance and assistance ○ Automate on-boarding ○ Provide key benchmarks that “appear as value!” ○ Validate the customer experience ● Continue to provide value long term ○ Videos ○ Blogs posts ○ Podcasts ○ Insights ○ Strategies ○ etc... What to do when people leave? ● Send exit survey ○ Find out why the left ○ Collect key APIS/reasons ● Stay in touch ○ Keep them on the list unless they unsubscribe ○ Send them “veteran” promotions and deals for reactivation ○ Continue to provide value ● Don’t take it personally ○ Unless they make it personal ● Clear refund policy ● Make it easy to come back ○ Discount for reactivating ○ Instant reactivation ○ Account “Pausing #WordPress #Churn #GroundHogg
