An Electrical Path to Grand Unification - Wallace Thornhill, Electric Universe
Wal Thornhill, the Chief Advisor for the Thunderbolts Project, has spent his life working on an electrical solution to the problem of grand unification. What is the place from which his ideas spring? We start with how the work of Immanuel Velikovsky inspired him as a young man, get him to sketch out the foundational concepts for how everything can be described through the lens of electricity, and talk about resistance in the sciences to truly radical ideas.

Mathematical Proof for Consciousness - Dr. Donald Hoffman, Cognitive Neuroscientist UC Irvine
What does the emergence of consciousnesses have to do with the fact that spacetime is doomed? Well, even after decades of experimentation, no one had managed to boot up consciousness from inanimate objects. Donald Hoffman, professor of cognitive neuroscience at UC Irvine, thinks this is because the very premise upon which most consciousness research is based, that the material world comes first and consciousness emerges from it later, is flawed. Instead, he takes a mathematical approach inspired by the work of people like Nima Arkhani-Hamed to show that consciousness had to come first. That is, awareness does not emerge from the material world. Instead, it comes from beyond the world we know.

Element Transmutation, Electric Sun, and Biophotons - Dr. Michael Clarage, Safire Project
Dr. Michael Clarage is a founding member of the SAFIRE project who has recently turned his attention to the nascent field of biophotonics, which has him wondering - are we underestimating the effects of electromagnetic radiation on the human body? Is it possible to assemble a DNA sequence with nothing but sound? Is there such a thing as a morphogenic field? This week, Dr. Clarage takes us on a walk through the very edges of science to see if we can figure out what will change about the models that we hold so dear today, gives us an update on the Safire project, and sheds some light on the cosmic horizon. It's a wild ride, so buckle up!!

Electric Harmonics of Consciousness - Andrés Gómez Emilsson, Qualia Research Institute
What is the dividing line between the feeling of sitting in a fluorescently lit cubicle vs flying down the Gold Coast, sea foam in your hair and music in your ears? Obviously almost everything, but where is the root of the subjective emotional experience, the qualia, come from? Andrés Gómez Emilsson, director of research at the Qualia Research Institute, suggests that it lives in the harmonic patterns of the brain. Enjoyable experiences can be understood as consonant resonances, negative ones as dissonant, disorganized ones. He and his colleagues are working on a mathematical model of experience - both the mundane and the transcendent, as they are informed in their work by the hyperbolic geometry of DMT and other psychedelic substances. The goal, at the end of the day, is to create a functional map of human experience so complete that it can help eliminate unnecessary suffering.

The Crumbling Line Between Planets and Stars - Dr. Gibor Basri, Astrophysicist U.C. Berkeley
UC Berkeley professor Gibor Basri studies brown dwarves - cool objects that are not quite planets, not quite stars. But before we could get to the strange phenomena of these deuterium and lithium fusers, we had to cover some basics. How do you tell the difference between a planet and a star? Is it thier formation, their location, or something else entirely? The answer is fuzzier than you would expect - and requires us to take a trip into the dark, cool reaches of our galaxy, where stars and planets alike are being formed in the safety of the nebular nurseries hidden in the dark arms of our pinwheel Milky Way. There we discover that star formation, often spoken of as an exclusively gravitational process, is midwifed by chemistry, electricity, and magnetism. Come explore what happens in the dark, cold reaches of space, and how the darkness gives rise to light. #astronomy #astrophysics #paradigmshift

Layout of Ancient Cities Evidence of a Wandering North Pole? - Mario Buildreps, Antiquity Reborn
What do ice ages, geology, crust shifts and super ancient civilizations have to do with each other? Well, when taken together, they tell the story of much, much longer timeline of technologically advanced humans. Our episode this week is with engineer and archeological researcher Mario Buildreps, who after years of research into the architecture of ancient cities, found something very strange. No matter where he looked, the northern face of ancient buildings was pointed towards Greenland. As he looked deeper and deeper into his dataset of great circle orientations, he realized something even weirder - the intersections of these structures clustered into five nodes. By correlating his findings with data from the Vostok ice sheet, the age of the ocean floor, and the layout of tectonic boundaries, he stumbled on an extraordinary theory. Not only were these structures much older than we realized - maybe ten times as old - but they told a completely new story of the geologic history of the Earth.

Impossibly Old Artifacts - Michael Cremo, Forbidden Archaeology
How do you explain a gold chain pulled from a 300 million year old lump of coal, a perfectly crafted brass bell pulled from a mine in the Appalachians, delicately inscribed stone obelisks found deep in gold mines, hammers embedded in impossibly ancient rock? Archaeology can't... which is why most researchers disregard these findings in order to maintain a 300,000-year-old timeline for modern humans. But Michael Cremo is not your typical archaeologist, and he isn't willing to ignore the compelling evidence for a much stranger, deeper history of human emergence. Join us as we explore the world of forbidden archaeology and establish an alternative theory for human emergence.

NASA Scientist Reveals Planets Are Powerful Beings - Dr. David Grinspoon, Astrobiologist
We normally think of planets as inanimate balls of nickel and silicon, animated by the molten rumbling of the inner core. How does our world change when someone like NASA’s David Grinspoon reveals that planets are actually powerful beings? It requires zooming out from our own experience, lived in the narrow corridors of the human scale. It requires us to think on the galactic scale, to entertain ideas of living beings that operate in ways we can barely imagine. But imagine we do! We talk about the ways in which the wild creatures Earth live and breathe as a single organism, the role of humans in this interconnected world, and how Earth - and maybe all planets - come to be powerful, intelligent beings. This conversation is based on work that Grinspoon did with Dr. Sarah Walker and Dr. Adam Frank on Planetary Intelligence, check out their paper here: https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/international-journal-of-astrobiology/article/intelligence-as-a-planetary-scale-process/5077C784D7FAC55F96072F7A7772C5E5
