You Don’t Have To Post 10 Times A Day
Let’s talk about a myth that’s been disguising itself as social media advice: The more you post, the faster you’ll grow on social media. I’m here to tell you it’s not true. The numbers don’t support posting 10 times a day as a fast track to social media success. Can you imagine if that was true? Just think how much content overload we would be in if that were true. Thankfully, after working in social media for decades now, I can confirm that there is a simpler, less time-intensive way to grow on social. Let’s talk about the three main ways I use to help my clients and my biz grow without falling for the content overload myth. In this episode of the podcast, I talk about: Time-focused vs Output-focused content strategy Creating an experience with your content The true nature of social media Favorite Starbucks order type of relationships Finding non-competitor collaborators What to do before you start running ads …And More! Navigating Trendy Content As A Business Owner
Do you like to jump on the latest social media trends? Social media is meant to be fun and, well, social. So, the popularity and evolution of trends make so much sense. As brands, we see everyone else having fun, so why can’t we join in? Does our content have to be all about business? It’s easy to think that trends are all about hopping on a bandwagon and have no real value, but it’s so much more than that, especially for business owners. In today’s episode, let’s talk about the importance of aligning trends with your brand values, avoiding cringe-worthy moments, and staying true to your audience. We'll even touch on the ethical considerations of leveraging trends and the potential pitfalls to watch out for. So, whether you're a content creator, business owner, or just want to nerd out on the history and evolution of trending content, this episode is for you. In this episode of the podcast, I talk about: Pre-social media trend chasing The decentralization of content creation The new rules for trending content Why trends have a shorter life expectancy The secret ingredient that makes a trend a trend How to know if jumping on a trend is right for your business The danger of going all-in on trending content …And More! I’m Saying Goodbye to X (formerly known as Twitter)
It’s official! I’m leaving X (formerly known as Twitter) behind, and I’m not looking back! Twitter has such a special place in my heart. But sometimes, hanging on to the memories of the good times can’t overshadow just how bad things are today. And bad might be an understatement when it comes to the current state of X (does anybody hate that name as much as me?) ever since Elon Musk took over. While this may sound like an emotional decision, let me break down exactly why, as a marketer and business owner, now is the right time for me and my business to say goodbye to what used to be an amazing platform. In this episode of the podcast, I talk about: Elon Musk’s flipflop decision making The facts behind why X is terrible My strong opinion of why X is terrible How X is impacting marketers for the worse The “promised” future of X The Big Brands who are leaving X behind …And More! The Ultimate Content Repurposing Hack
The days of copying and pasting content from one platform to another are long gone. If this is true (and trust me, the results don’t lie), with platform algorithms getting more sophisticated and audiences' attention spans getting smaller, how do you get the most out of the content you spent so much time, energy, and love creating? Don’t worry, this isn’t the end of repurposing content. It’s the beginning of a thrift store content strategy that will help you maximize the life of your content without stressing you out as you try to please Mr. Al on every social media platform. Listen in and learn why mixing the kind of content you love creating with a digital brain strategy is the most sustainable and realistic way for you to stay consistent on social media without falling victim to content creation burnout.
