211: How To Reduce Hamstring Injury Risk
In episode 211 Eric Gorman Strength and Conditioning Coach at New York Red Bulls, joins us.
Specifically Eric will be looking at:
Why footballers suffer hamstring injuries
Factors influencing injury risk
Reducing injury risk
How he works in the gym to strengthen hamstrings
About Eric :
"My name is Eric Gorman, and I am currently the Strength and Conditioning Coach with the New York Red Bulls' First Team. I have been with the club for 4 seasons now, and this is my third with the First Team. I spent 1 year with the second team and prior to that, I spent 5 years with the Philadelphia Union Academy. Football is my passion but more than just football, training and coaching footballers is even more of a passion. I have been training athletes for the past 15 years and watching young athletes, and professional athletes' development their technical and physical skills is something that I enjoy doing. In the last 9 years, I have been dedicating my time learning and developing my craft in the rehab/reconditioning process. Blending performance and rehab is a important process in what I do and what I love. I think one of the best things about sport is watching a player go through their reconditioning process, then transition back to team training, then watching them perform in matches. Seeing that process through and the excitement it brings to the athlete is awesome to be a part of. I am married to the most amazing wife who supports me and my career. I wouldn't be able to do what I love without her love and support. We have two amazing sons, both who are thriving in their own ways. Football is important, but family is everything."
