When civilization still existed a century before did the people pine for meritocracy? Or did they live in a different way?Are there problems with meritocracy that people do not recognize? Oliver Anthony's viral hit has become a litmus test for many in the online Christian world.Some evangelical leaders and movement conservative pundits immediately denounced the song for its obvious populist themes. Other online Christians took an opportunity to "Jesus juke" saying Appalachia "needs the gospel, not political or cultural change." As if the two are opposed!The song gave CJay an opportunity to be attacked by hundreds of leftists and other bio-leninists for calling for southern reparations. We discussed the South's place in Western history, hierarchical society, the political problem of slavery in the 19th Century, and how we should approach these difficult and contentious topics.

This week we discuss the recent very sad incident with a fedpoasting Utah man who met his end at the hands of an FBI SWAT team. What are we to think of the phenomenon of angry, frustrated Boomers venting on social media? What does the church have to offer men like this?We also discuss the new Cold War between the GAE and BRICS as it is playing out in Africa.We close out the show with a conversation on "just follow the Consitution and love liberty" as a political strategy. Who is going to make them "just follow the constitution"? How do written constitutions even work without anyone to enforce them?
