In this message, we seek the answer to whether Jesus was Lord or a liar. Jesus taught with great authority and wisdom that amazed people. The sermon argues that we should not just trust Jesus for our eternal destiny but also accept his teachings and make him the Lord and guide over how we live our daily lives. It presents evidence for why Jesus can be trusted, including his miraculous deeds, and brilliant teachings that attracted multitudes.

This message focuses on Jesus as a teacher, specifically addressing his teachings on greed. The main text we covered was from Luke 12, where Jesus warns against greed and calls his followers to prioritize God's kingdom over accumulating possessions. The message highlighted three symptoms of greed and encouraged us to seek God's kingdom first and practice generosity. We learned that true security and fulfillment come from obedience to God rather than chasing after wealth and possessions.

We kick off the new year with a message from our Executive Pastor, Angela Linz, talking about the goodness of God. 

By mid-December, too many already hate Christmas. We are tired of the carols, the parties, the decorations, and our tree is already starting to die. There are a lot of reasons that people hate Christmas. But what if all of the hatred is because what we hoped for wasn’t reality? This year, set aside the hate and come expecting something new this Christmas as we dive into Advent themes of the season. 

The Bible seems to mention the overwhelming power of two things in our lives: money and words. What does it mean for money to have the power over us? Is it actually possible to serve money instead of God? The Bible says that the tongue has the power of life and death. Is that actually true? In “The Power of _____,” we tackle the power of money and our words.

For a man with so much hope for the future, Joseph spent a good part of his life rejected, abandoned, and imprisoned. How did he endure the abuse, betrayal, disappointment, and injustice in his life? This four-part series looks at how Joseph's choices helped him overcome every obstacle life threw at him. 

With a population of 7.5 billion worldwide, people are everywhere! And yet, according to a recent AP Report, “Americans, who have become less engaged with worship houses, community organizations, and even their own family members in recent decades, have steadily reported an increase in feelings of loneliness.” Isolation and individualism are rising while vulnerability and accountability are becoming obsolete. Is there a way from the teachings of Jesus that would help us live lives that were fully known and fully loved by God and others as we continue moving towards the center of God’s purpose for our lives? Of course, that answer is YES! And it’s found in community.
