Protestant Christianity has differed from Roman Catholicism in several ways. One of those ways is its esteeming of the “priesthood of all believers.” However, although the leaders of a church do not posses any special claim to revelation from God, the Scripture still demands that the members of a church show their leaders honor. (Hebrews 13:17-18)

Question from Kevin Wendt How would you answer someone that brings up 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 in opposition to Christians getting involved in the political sphere, including abortion mill ministries?

The Apostle Paul was willing to say “I am the chief of sinners.” So why are we so afraid to acknowledge our own sinfulness? Perhaps, this reveals the fact that we still struggle to believe that the Gospel is a message of grace, not works.

How should we respond to those who say “this world is not our home” in order to justify not getting involved in the culture war and politics? Many Christians point to Bible verses that describe us as “sojourners” and “strangers” in order to support their avoidance of the tangible issues of our day. Are these Christians right? Are we merely sojourners in this world? Or does the Bible have a different message for New Testament Christians?

The Church is the most powerful offensive weapon on earth. God has not simply called his people to defend the faith, but to actively push back against the powers of darkness.
