DAILY TRUTH - Irrational Fear Is A Sign Of God’s Judgment

Fear is always a sin (unless it’s a proper fear of God). But fear can also be a sign of being under God’s judgment, especially when the fear is irrational.

DAILY TRUTH - America’s Collapse | Judgment For The Wicked, Or Discipline For The Church?

In Psalm 81:12, God responds to Israel’s disobedience by saying, “So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, to walk in their own devices.” Once again, when a nation abandons God, God eventually abandons them. However, this “handing over” of a society to sin can actually represent both God’s righteous judgment on the wicked and his fatherly discipline toward his covenant children and those he has ordained to save. Remember, the father of the prodigal son did something similar when his beloved son wickedly demanded to receive his share of the inheritance before his father died. Instead of chastising his son, the father chose to give him exactly what he wanted and allowed him squander it all on “loose living” (Luke 15:11-32). Also, in Psalm 106:15, in response to Israel’s demand for meat in the wilderness, the Scripture expressly says, “So [God] gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.” Truly, sin is its own punishment. So does the current rebellion in America represent the righteous judgment of God or the loving discipline of the Heavenly Father? The answer is both.

SUNDAY SERMON - Roe Is Dead: Why The Church Must Celebrate & Secure The Victory | Joshua 6:6-21

It is not enough to obey God in part. The people of Israel witnessed God's deliverance of victory with the crumbling of the walls of Jericho, but they were then expected to secure that victory by putting all the inhabitants of the city to death. To often, the people of God are content to merely subdue sin, rather than mortify it. We cry out to the Lord, trust in his promises, witness his powerful deliverance, but then allow our sin to live. We are satisfied to capture sin, but unwilling to deliver the death blow. Instead, we make provisions for the flesh, so that sin might still be available to us at some point in the future. We must be ruthless in our individual sanctification to mortify sin. And we must be just as ruthless with societal crimes, especially abortion. Roe is dead, but the victory must be secured.

BONUS EPISODE - Are Christian Parents In California At Risk Of Losing Their Children?

Senator Scott Wilk recently urged parents at the California Senate Judicial Committee to flee the state during a hearing on a bill that would cause parents who don’t affirm their child’s “gender transition” to face the danger of child abuse charges. *Ministry Sponsors:* *Squirrelly Joes Coffee - Caffeinating The Modern Reformation* *Visit squirrellyjoes.com to purchase your coffee today!* *Private Family Banking:* *Email at banking@privatefamilybanking.com or call 830-339-9472 to schedule an appointment today!* To support Right Response Ministries, visit: https://rightresponseministries.com/donate Subscribe to our Theology Applied podcast below: Apple podcast: https://bit.ly/theologyapplied Spotify podcast: https://bit.ly/theologyappliedspotify Google Play podcast: https://bit.ly/theologyappliedgooglepodcast *If you live in the Austin area, Pastor Joel just started planting a brand new church called Covenant Bible Church in Hutto, Texas. DAILY TRUTH - How Sin Destroys Whole Societies

Apart from God’s “saving grace” (found only in Christ), all people have embraced their own rebellion by casting off the righteous rule of God and his Law. Therefore, on one level, Romans 1:24-32 applies to each and every individual who has been born. However, on another level, Romans 1:24-32 also applies to collective societies and cultures down through human history. At the Tower of Babel, arrogant sinners defied God and incurred his just judgment. At Sodom and Gomorrah, the people were so corrupt that God rained down fire and consumed their cities. Furthermore, when God told Moses and Joshua to utterly destroy the Canaanites, it was because these wicked and godless people had filled up the full measure of God’s wrath by committing heinous acts of rebellion for over 400 years (Genesis 15:13-16). In short, when a society abandons God, God will abandon them.

DAILY TRUTH - America Is Imploding

Romans 1:24-32 is clear, when a society willfully chooses to reject God’s truth in exchange for the lie, as well as reject God’s glory in exchange for the glory of the creature, God promises to hand them over to their sins and the horrible consequences which will inevitably follow. Romans 1:18 assures us that God has clearly revealed himself to all people, both by his creation and his just wrath toward sinners. So in Romans 1:24-32, the Apostle Paul is merely demonstrating precisely how the wrath of God is revealed. One clear demonstration of the wrath of God is God’s choice to hand sinners over to their own lusts, so that they might receive the “due penalty” for their sin (the natural consequences of sin). In other words, sin is its own punishment (not the only/ultimate punishment).
