While backup kickers on the Washington State University football team, Brett Schafer and Ryan Henderson used to spend down time talking about stocks. As for valuing such a large and intricate business, Hasson admits to keeping a large spreadsheet summing up the value of all its parts, but that many shareholders seem to be able to get just as good of a sense of knowing when shares are particularly expensive or cheap by tracking the company's price-to-book ratio.
