500: Q&A - What problem does your biz solve?

The question, "What problem do you help solve? If you have a business, product, service, message, what problem does it solve for an end user or recipient?” We posted this question on show host Kevin Miller’s Facebook page - agentkmiller - and received incredible responses. The question came from our interviews with Don Miller in show 498 where we discussed his book, ‘Story Brand’ - Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen. He took us through the structure our business message should follow - “A CHARACTER who wants something encounters a PROBLEM before they can get it. At the peak of their despair, a GUIDE steps into their lives, gives them a PLAN, and CALLS THEM TO ACTION. That action helps them avoid FAILURE and ends in a SUCCESS.” If you have a biz, product or service or hope to, I guaranteed you’ll get wise direction from this show. 498: WORK - Don Miller, how story is the key to your biz success

Here is my testimony to Don Miller; of books written in the last decade, I have heard more testimony of actual life change as a result of people reading Don’s book, ‘A Million Miles In A Thousand Years’, than any other book. Period. I have purchased three cases of the book and given them away. I attended Don’s Storyline conferences, as have much of my family and friends. Now Don has brought his expertise and insight on story to the business world with unprecedented acclaim. If you want a successful business and life, what you will hear in the following interview and in Don’s just released book, ‘Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen’, is a must read. Why? It flips our perspective of how to promote what we have to offer to the public. It’s not about your product or service, it is about the customer. Don takes us through the structure of a good storyline and how we can and must apply it to our offerings in this format - “A CHARACTER who wants something encounters a PROBLEM before they can get it. At the peak of their despair, a GUIDE steps into their lives gives them a PLAN and CALLS THEM TO ACTION. That action helps them avoid FAILURE and ends in a SUCCESS.” When you listen in, I predict two things - 1) you will realize you are violating some of these principles, and 2) you will have an aha moment you can take action on right away. 497: ZIGBOMB - Can you really do and be anything?

In today’s show, I posted this question on my Facebook page, “We can do and become anything we want to do and become. Do you agree?” The direct answer was almost unanimous, but the perspectives varied greatly. I feel there were three main takeaways - 1) the necessity to know yourself well, your gifts, talents, skills and abilities, 2) the reality that we are all pretty prone to limiting ourselves, and 3) anything worthwhile WILL be overwhelming and require more than we can offer solely in and of ourselves. 496: HABITS - Tom Bilyeu, do not be right, be a learner

Round two with Tom Bilyeu in the show everyone is already raving about…Habits. We take the 7 spokes on the Ziglar Wheel of Life and ask today’s biggest world influences, what their daily habits are in each of these areas.   If you didn’t catch the show prior to this one, episode 495 with Tom Bilyeu…gift yourself and go listen. It was one of more harder hitting shows on the nitty-gritty of walking out our personal development endeavors. The highlight for me was choosing to believe..it’s your fault. It’s all…my fault. Sounds terrible, doesn’t it. But it’s a massive freedom.   Connect with tom at impacttheory.com or just search Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or iTunes for Impact Theory.   In this show, you’ll hear how this legend in the wellness industry hates working out, how he had to stop working non stop for his marriage, how reading is his passion and road to self-improvement and why he loves playing video games with his wife!   If you get value, please leave a review in iTunes and tell us why so we can bring you more of the same!   And folks, while we keep this show free of any offending language, we don’t commit to this from all the content our guests put out.  Learn more about your ad choices. 495: MIND - Tom Bilyeu wants us to pull you out of the Matrix

Tom Bilyeu came on this show to help us develop an anti-fragile, unbeatable mindset.” He is the co-founder of 2014 Inc. 500 company Quest Nutrition — a unicorn startup valued at over $1 billion — and the co-founder and host of Impact Theory. Impact Theory is a first-of-its-kind company designed to facilitate global change through the incubation of mission-based businesses and the cultivation of empowering content. Every piece of content Impact Theory creates is meant to underscore the company mission to free people from The Matrix and help them unlock their true potential. Impact Theory exists to inspire the next generation of game-changing companies and creators that will make a true and lasting impact on the world. I really got interested in what Tom was doing after seeing a video of an interview he did with Simon Sinek on Millennial. The video went viral and helped bring a lot of people to Impact Theory. I’ve now watched countless interviews from Tom. If you find him on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, you’ll see a hard-driving approach to personal development, no excuses and getting the most out of yourself. But in this interview, you’ll hear it comes from a challenging upbringing and a lot of compassion for our humanity. Tom talks at length about how average he is and had to work so hard at learning how to be more. How he built a billion-dollar company in the wellness industry but hates working out…even though he does it every day. You’ll also hear me tackle a controversial video he posted titled, “It’s all your fault” where he charges us to  take everything bad that’s ever happened to us and say, “It’s my fault.” Sound ridiculous? Listen in.  Connect with Tom at Impacttheory.com or just search Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or iTunes for Impact Theory. And folks, while we keep this show free of any offending language, we don’t commit to this from all the content our guests put out.  Thanks to Top Resume and ZipRecruiter for supporting this episode. 494: ZIGBOMB - Greg McKeown will see you at the top

In my interview with Greg McKeown, author of the book, “Essentialism”, he cited his fave Zig quote/concept was, “See You At The Top”, because 1) “There is always more room at top than the bottom" 2)“Life can be of ever increasing contribution" 3) “Our greatest contribution always lies ahead of us, not behind us.” From that I posted this question on my agentkmiller Facebook page: What role does "motivation" play in your real, day-to-day life? There is plenty of baggage associated with the word? I'm asking for some show content, so as always...looking for real feedback, not platitudes. Thank you! We got a wealth of responses that my cohost Michelle Prince and I covered…it was incredibly insightful into this world of personal development and motivation that admittedly has some differing perceptions and values to people. It ended up getting broken down into two parts, 1) motive as the core desire you have to pursue something, but then also 2) what you do to motivate yourself to take action when those times come and even though you want the achievement, you just don’t feel like doing the work. It made me really look at the topic differently. I expect it will for you too. Thanks to all of you who have been leaving new reviews in iTunes! That helps us get seen by more people. 493: HABITS - Greg McKeown’s personal health habits

Let us go behind the scenes with ‘Essentialism’ best selling author, Greg McKeown, for our HABITS show. If you didn’t catch our main interview with him in episode 492, go listen to it now! Today I walk through the seven spokes of success in the Ziglar Wheel of Life with Greg to see what his habits for success are, and I’ll tell you now, I bet you’ll hear some new ones. I sure did. For starters, he keeps a daily food journal, does a lot of trampolining with his kids, is intrigued by all that Jesus didn’t do, he fasts monthly and has compiled a journal of 10,000 items he’s grateful for. He was completely thoughtful, open and authentic. It was a tremendous joy and we shared some fun. I could tell you more, or dive in. Let’s go. He was completely thoughtful, open and authentic. It was a complete joy and we shared some fun. Thank you to Concur for supporting this episode.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

492: MIND – Greg McKeown, the higher status of essentialism

Greg McKeown is the bestselling author of the book, “Essentialism” - The Disciplined Pursuit of Less. The term best seller is used a lot, so let us clarify this is the real deal. The book was published 3.5 years ago and as of this writing is ranked as the 1,289 bestselling book on Amazon. Overall. That’s a big, big deal. And now having studied the book, we know why. It’s a game changer. A life changer. As you will hear in this interview, it’s not about minimalism. It’s more about making the right and best decisions. Putting decisions to an extreme tests. Being in control. A great analogy that sets a good stage is, Greg says that in an emergency, “Everyone is an essentialist.” We get on task, on target, divest ourselves of non-necessities, and do what is most efficient, effective and successful. So can you really live every moment like that? Listen in and find out. Connect with Greg and his revolutionary work at http://gregmckeown.com. 491: ZIGBOMB – Jordan Harbinger on giving to get

Jordan Harbinger of The Art of Charm podcast and empire was on stage at a live event he was MCing in Las Vegas and he gave us his favorite Ziglar quote, and why. The quote? “You can have everything in life you want if you will help enough other people get what they want.” Then this is interesting, I had been taking our guests quotes and crafting a question around them and posting to the Ziglar Facebook page which has nearly 4.5 million fans. We get many, many comments. This time however, I posted to my personal page at agentkmiller. We’ve never gotten so many in depth, authentic comments. So much that it was really hard to filter through and decide what to bring you, as it was too much to share them all. On that note, you are welcome to friend me at agentkmiller on Facebook, as I’ll be posting a question around our guests’ ZigBomb every week. So what is the question I posted that provoked so many deep comments? I asked, “While the concept sounds all well and great, where have you had success or challenge in living this concept out? What concerns and/or feedback do you have regarding the statement? Be as raw and honest as you will.” And people were just that, raw and honest. I brought in my co-host Michelle Prince to talk through some of the comments. Thanks to Joey who just left a 5 star review in iTunes and testifying to Tom Ziglar, right after some grumpy soul left a stinger about Tom. If you want to show some support to the family and message of Ziglar, please help us by leaving a review in iTunes! Thanks to Goddard School for supporting this episode.
