How does simply tracking your daily activities affect your overall success? It’s massive. As with most positive improvement, actually, all...the point is brain training. Trying to get our brains to make the right decisions, do what we truly want to do...so we’re all looking for ways to manage ourselves. So here with daily tracking, We’re not talking massive goals planning here, we’re dumbing it down to the ridiculously simple, that none of us can deny is easily possible. Anything in your life where you want health and success, if you will just make a daily note of what you did in that area, you will improve. Why? As you’ll hear in the show, it increases your awareness, accountability and motivation. Again, just simply...noting down what you did. Even if it’s...nothing. You’ll see it and it will give you conscious and subconscious fuel to do something, the next day. So I kick this discussion off with a clip from Zig Ziglar on this issue. 655: Alan Stein, high performance secrets from renowned pro basketball performance coach
What is your key to success? Well first, there isn’t one, there will be a bunch of keys. The best way to find them? Discover the keys that successful people use in their lives! Which I bet is a main reason you listen to The Ziglar Show. But we can’t listen to any one person’s success keys and adopt them for our lives. We are unique and will need a unique batch of keys to unlock our own potential. SO...the tagline for this show is “Inspiring Your True Performance”. I received a book titled “Raise Your Game - High performance secrets from the best of the best.” I was intrigued initially, then much more when I began reviewing the book. Alan Stein, Jr. is the author and our guest today. Here’s what I think is of such great value though. Alan didn’t just survey successful people, he worked directly alongside them. Long term and intimately. Specifically, NBA superstars. Alan is a world-renowned performance coach who spent most of his career working with pro basketball players. Now he’s a sought after speaker, podcast host and author.
But before you get visions of his guidance being how to high jump and dribble, the first chapter of his book, the anchor in my opinion, is based on my current, favorite word: AWARE. Chapter one in his book is Self-Awareness. Do you get that? The testimony is that the first key ingredient they are looking for in a world-dominating basketball player is not height, reach, endurance, physical strength or even mental grit. It’s self-awareness. In my years of working as a professional in the personal development industry, after 362 Ziglar Show episodes and over 100 interviews with highly successful and influential people, I wholly agree. 654: Choose your own label
Got labels? In this show, we’re going to talk about labels. The ones we want and don’t want. There are labels, positive and negative, we are given. That we often believe. There are many leaders who say “Deny any negative labels, reject them!” However, we sometimes get labels that we know...have some truth to them. And we just accept them. Even...when we change. Then what about the labels we want? Can we not become those? I have a message about this from...Zig Ziglar. He tells what is actually a fairly disheartening story of testimonies of how negative labels dramatically affected people’s live, of course, primarily for the worse. As you know, he doesn’t often spend time communicating anything negative. But to drive home his point, he did in this clip. But as always, he uses it to empower us. From the clip I posted this message to the Ziglar audience:

I asked Michelle Prince to join me to talk through your comments, we got through as many as we could. This is a very tangible and often sore issue in our lives, but getting it out on the table to deal with is really, really significant. 650: Do you look forward to retiring, or not?
The answer is more important than you’d think. I’m bringing you a two minute clip from Zig Ziglar today on, retirement. I’ll preface by admitting what he says is somewhat controversial. But the point massively valid regarding retirement, if that is your goal and expectation. So I simply asked this question on my personal Facebook page, “Do you look forward to retiring? Why or why not?” Quickly there were over 60 comments, and two distinct sides. The comments were all valuable enough that I changed my format and instead of having one of my regular co-hosts with me, I’m going to read through a majority of the comments, then simply pose some questions to you...and leave you to ponder your own perspective and desire. This will be an interesting show. And as it’s relevant to so many, I’d ask you to share it with others who you feel it would be of value to.
