168. The Open Throat Center - Exploring Human Design Concepts

What is the open throat center in Human Design? How do we work with its unique gifts and challenges in the process of deconditioning? The open / undefined throat is one of my favorite topics in Human Design. It's said that only 29% of the population has an open throat center, making it the least common out of the open centers. Unsurprisingly (and pun intended), there's a lot of misconceptions, misunderstandings, and, frankly, terrible advice about how to live with an open throat center. In this episode, I share about my process understanding, deconditioning, and ultimately befriending my undefined throat.Thank you Kelsey Rose Tortorice for the question! You can listen to my conversation with Kelsey here. She also has incredible courses to help you learn Human Design, Human Design for the Astrologically Minded and Living Your Design. I also mentioned my HD teachers, Amy Lee and John Cole of Human Design Collective whose foundational courses on Human Design I highly recommend.   Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 167. Thinking is Spiritual: A Meditation on Mercury Cazimi

How might thinking open a portal to embodied transcendence? What role do the right questions at the right time play in walking an open-hearted path?Thinking is often bedeviled in 'spiritual' spaces. Thinking has been marketed as the enemy of the heart-centered, spirit-led life. Thinking has been defined as the opposite of embodiment. Thinking has been dubbed the root of all sufferings. But does thinking not also happen in the body? Why does Life gift us minds alongside bodies and hearts, if we were asked to shut it down to reach spiritual mastery?I explore these spiky questions from the lens of the Mercury Retrograde in Virgo and the Mercury Cazimi in Leo.I also mentioned some of my teachers, Diana Rose Harper and Deborah Kremins, as well as a container I'm currently facilitating, Deep Spirit Medicine.Photo by Maksym Kaharlytskyi via Unsplash. 166. Venus in Virgo: Love in Process

What might Venus's fall in Virgo teach us about love at the crossroads? How might we marry pleasure and devotion?August seems to be Venus veneration month for me. Last year, around the same time, we sat by the altar of Venus as they were making their retrograde in Leo (Episode 89. Contemplating Venus Retrograde in Leo 2023: Illuminating The Loveless Places). This year, existential Venusian questions haunted me as the laughter-loving queen transited through my ascendant degree. They woke me from a slumber and demanded an episode be recorded in their honor. What do we do when our desires require that we alchemize conditioned passivity into meticulous strategizing? How do we access a deeper well of love when it becomes apparent that consistent tending is necessary?I mentioned the works of Leah Garza and Kathryn Solie in this episode.  Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 165. The Life-Changing Magic of Authentic Planning: How To Prioritize Your Heart in Streamlining Your Process

What is authentic planning? How might we be able to use our planning skills to create work that feels energetically true to us? Are there times when planning actually compromise the sacred flow of the work?In this episode, I shared lessons and contemplations on the heart of planning. Contrary to popular beliefs, planning will neither solve all your problems nor will it kill your creativity. The truth, of course, is more nuanced.Planning is a tool. Like any other tool, there are considerations for using it well. Planning can help us effectively direct our efforts towards important projects that bring deep satisfaction. Planning can feel authentic, easeful, and liberating. In contrast, planning can also imprison us, frustrate us, or distract us from the true work at hand.So what distinguishes life-giving planning from soul-sucking planning? In hindsight, I'm surprised it's taken this long for me to talk about planning on the podcast. As a Virgo rising, this is one of the major themes in my life that continue to pop up no matter where I go. I've resorted to planning obsessively when I'm frustrated or heartbroken. I've also kneeled at the altar of planning and have lifelong prayers be answered with a great deal of surprising efficiency.Special thanks to Tiffany (@tiffografi on Threads) for sharing a question that prompted this exploration, as well as to Michelle Pellizzon who's taught me to heal my heart and fall back in love with my life through organization, clarity, and System Spells.  Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 164. Bodies of Land with Marika Clymer & Carolyn Egan

How are human bodies extensions of the lands we live on? How do we remember threads of connection interwoven in the earth? How might deepening our elemental connections assist us in times of uncertainty? In the past few months, I have been collaborating with Marika Clymer and Carolyn Egan on a zine project, lovingly named Bodies of Land. This issue is an ode to the energetics of Summer 2024 seen through the lens of the body, plants, and planets, and it's incredibly gorgeous. It's available for digital download here.In this episode, I invited Marika and Carolyn to explore he themes that run through the zine, including the land as a body, the human body as an extension of the land itself, and how astrology can bring us closer to our inherent connection and belonging with the rest of creation. We also discussed how knowledge can become pathways to deepen connections rather than barriers to deny connections with life, being with uncertainty, and the energetics of fire.We also explored the behind the scenes process of creating the zine, including how the three of us ended up collaborating on this zine, and how the summer has immersed us in experiences that deepened our embodiment of the themes of the zine. Carolyn and Marika have taught me so much through the generous sharing of their perspectives and their presence in the process of creating this zine.If you resonate with our discussions, we invite you to check out the zine here.Links: Marika's shop, where you can get super cool merchandisesCarolyn's shop, where you can get potent herbal medicines and guides Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 163. On Astrological Forecasting with Sabrina Monarch

What do astrologers learn from the practice of forecasting? How might studying astrology and contemplating the future help us be more present to our daily reality? In this conversation, I invited the incredible astrologer Sabrina Monarch for a discussion on the practice of astrological forecasting. Over the years, Sabrina and I have both cultivated a practice of sharing our perspectives on astrological transits with our audience and our communities. It's a rich practice that have assisted us both in honing our unique astrological voices. We thought we'd share some lessons we've learned as well as how this practice has expanded us as practitioners and as humans. Sabrina has been practicing & teaching evolutionary astrology for many years now. She was someone I studied with very early on in my journey, and my experience learning with her was invaluable to who I've become as an astrologer. Early in my studies, I signed up for her newsletter and quickly became enchanted by the inspired, image-driven, vivid ways that Sabrina wrote about astrology. Her forecasts were beyond mere delineations – they hold potential to transport readers into expanded experiences of reality. From now until August 11, 2024, Sabrina is running a Kickstarter campaign to support the creation of her forecasts & her podcast throughout the coming year. Through the Kickstarter, you can make a pledge to support Sabrina's work & in exchange receive discounted tuition for her signature course, Evolutionary Astrology Intensive, as well as workshops, readings, and a new course called Glamor Magic.Links to connect with Sabrina:Sabrina 2024-2025 Kickstarter CampaignSabrina's websiteSabrina's podcast, Magic of The Spheres, and her YouTube channelSabrina's Instagram Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 162. Introducing Deep Spirit Medicine

How do we honor the complex paradox of our interdependence with the world as exquisitely unique individuals in this lifetime? How do we remember our inherent belonging to the earth and cultivate an ongoing practice of reciprocal connections? How do we embrace neutrality as pathways into the mystery of life?In this episode, I introduce Deep Spirit Medicine, a 6-week foundational energy cultivation course. Deep Spirit Medicine is an experience designed to guide you to listen to your inner guidance, to develop clear perception, and to cultivate reciprocal relationships with the world around you. Through guided meditation and communal discussions, this course seeks to build a foundational practice for intuitive development. Deep Spirit Medicine lies at the heart of my practice as a mystic, an astrologer, a facilitator, and a human. It is foundational to everything I do. This work was developed by my teacher and mentor, Deborah Kremins, who also trained me to teach this work. I'm grateful for her guidance and I'm honored to share this work with you.Read more about the upcoming round of Deep Spirit Medicine here. The next round of Deep Spirit Medicine will start on Thursday, July 18, 2024. We will have a maximum of 20 participants, so it will be a small and intimate group. If you feel the resonance, I hope you will consider joining us.  Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 161. Trends, Traditions, Truth: Navigating The Ebbs & Flows of Spiritual Pursuits

How might we uncover our own truth in a world of infinite options? How do we contextualize the inevitability of trends in spiritual spaces? How do we approach traditions with discernment and wisdom? In this episode, I explored the complexity of trends and traditions within spiritual spaces. These can be polarizing topics. Too often, it's easy to either chase trends while losing a sense of who we are or to dismiss trends as mere fads. Likewise, it's also tempting to fall into the trap of revering traditions at all costs, neglecting to ask important questions rooted in common sense and to harden ourselves around "That's just the way things have been done." I will be teaching the next round of Deep Spirit Medicine, a foundational energetic cultivation course, which will begin on Thursday, July 18, 2024. 160. Rubber Spirituality: On Spiritual Practices & Spiritual Principles

Where does the rubber meet the road when it comes to our spiritual practices? What principles, beliefs, and values underlie our spiritual practices? How might contemplating them more deeply help us orient towards practices that align with the chapter of life we're in?This is the first installment (hopefully of many more) where I explore the theme of embodied practical spirituality. Our spiritual practices don't exist in a vacuum. They are part of the larger ecosystem of our lives. How do we begin building bridges between our so-called mundane realities and our spiritual lives? What caused the divide in the first place? How might we begin dissolving the arbitrary divisions and embracing the potential for our daily reality to initiate us?Drop any questions you may have for me here.Photo by Andres Siimon via Unsplash.
