127. Odette Blooms: Relationality & Reciprocity Through The Planets

How do we understand relationality through our unique experiences? How might practicing astrology assist us in the art of living in deeper acknowledgement of relationality and reciprocity? In this conversation with my friend Odette Blooms, who is an astrologer, an artist, and a mystic, we explored the theme of relationality as reflected through our lived experiences, as well as how Odette and I embody that experiential concept within our astrological & artistic practice. We discussed what it means to practice astrology as an art of connecting with spirit, of healing, and of remembering to give and receive love. We also spoke about the connection between relationality and reciprocity, as well as how these concepts make sense to us as immigrants who live at the intersections of collectivistic and individualistic cultures. It's a true conversation between two friends - a melding of two Mercurial, rhizomatic minds and two Venusian hearts. It moves at such a sweet, flowing, leisurely pace. To me, this is the tempo and the energy that Odette radiates out from their being: a gift of softening the edges of time through her presence. Here's Odette's bio:Odette (she/they) is an astrologer, artist and mystic devoted to beauty and creativity as a path towards deeper embodiment. As a student of the Earth, everything she does comes back to how we can re-member the inherent truth of unconditional love within ourselves, with other beings and with the precious land we live on. Being a first-generation immigrant from Mexico and raised by a single mother, Odette’s life has been anything but normal. As a child of Saturn, she has always been interested in disrupting the status quo and queering up everything she touches. Currently, her offerings include natal chart readings, and soon a women’s monthly circle that offers space to witness one another through the mercurial magic of story-telling. 121. Martha Alter Hines: Infinite Soul Wisdom Astrology

How might our astrology practice serve as a sacred portal of remembering? How might our unique perspectives as humans living in these times shift the trajectory of astrology? In this conversation, I'm joined by astrologer, channel, and healer Martha Alter Hines for a conversation about her unique perspective and relationship with astrology. Martha is currently preparing to teach the first round of her year-long astrology course and sacred journey, which you can learn more about here. Recorded in late October 2023, we discussed how astrology has helped Martha remember herself as an ancient being and a unique conduit of divine wisdom on a personal level as well as her process of stepping into the role of facilitating this remembering for others. We also spoke about Martha's background as clinical social worker, a psychotherapist, and a body worker inform her current astrology and healing practice, as well as how she teaches astrology.Martha's Infinite Soul Wisdom Astrology 101 Course & Sacred Journey begins on January 25, 2024. Sign up here. In the past few years, Martha and I have had the opportunity to collaborate - most notably on Re-Becoming The One 2023, a free online symposium that aims to promote healing of gender, sexuality, and our relationship to Love and Life itself. I deeply appreciate and admire the ways that Martha stewarded significant projects and containers with integrity, groundedness, and devotion. If you enjoy this episode, you may also want to listen to a previous conversation I recorded with Martha on Episode 34 of this podcast. Martha mentioned this video with Heather Ensworth and Kristina Lea during our conversation. Here’s Martha’s bio: First and foremost, I am a mom of two amazing kids, ages ten and fifteen. We live in BEAUTIFUL coastal California and feel so lucky to be here.I come from a big, international family.  I was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and grew up in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kenya, and northern Virginia.  I received my Masters in Social Work from Smith College in Massachusetts in 2001.  I then worked as a clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and body worker for most of the past twenty years. I specialized in prevention, treatment, and investigation of child abuse, attachment, and trauma. In 2018, the spirit world made it very clear that it was time for me to move on from that very important work to the calling of my soul – assisting people to navigate the beautiful and often challenging experience of awakening to their ultimate, cosmic selves and souls. For many years, since I was 21 years old, I have had an ability to see many things beyond the physical world – spirits of all kinds, past lives, the structure of people’s bodies and cells, and so on.In the work I do now, I bridge both the Earthly world and that of the spiritual and cosmic worlds to support us in coming into our personal and collective relationship with the spirit world and our own ways of living as conscious beings of both the Earth and the divine.I feel strongly that the world needs our wisdom, not only of our minds, but of our whole beings - our minds, hearts, bodies, spirits, and selves as beings of the Earth, cosmos, and infinity.I love this work that I do now and am honored and full of joy holding space for others to recognize their own beautiful, literally divine selves and to live the full life they are here to live. You can find Martha’s offerings on her website. She’s available for 1:1 sessions and has a beautiful membership community which hosts monthly gatherings.
