God's "Patriarchy" is part of what was lost in the time of Lehi, the Plain and Precious things. It is restored in 1 Nephi 1, Moses 1, and Abraham 3. It is the council of the Gods that we participate in. Interfaith work is different from missionary work. For those who don't have this experience, it is difficult not to fall into a missionary mindset. But there is goodness to be had in creating relationships with others even if the goal is not conversion.
