She wrote, produced, directed, shot and edited the feature film Daydream Believer; winner of The Independent Spirit Award "Someone To Watch" and The Grand Jury Prize at The Slamdance Film Festival. Similarly, she wrote, produced, directed & edited the award-winning films The Limbo Room (with Melissa Leo, Peter Dinklage) and Before The Sun Explodes, which premiered in competition at SXSW (2016). Eisenstadt has written and directed for Nickelodeon, works as a script doctor, a teacher and is a long time collaborator with her husband, filmmaker Brett Morgen. Lara Jean Gallagher is a writer and director originally from rural Pennsylvania where she was raised on a steady stream of television, polka, processed food, and wooded warfare with her three sisters. Lara earned her Directing MFA from Columbia University and was named one of IFP's 2015 Emerging Storytellers. Her award-winning shorts and music videos have screened at SXSW, Palm Springs Shortfest, Mill Valley, Portland International, and online via Pitchfork, Spin, Rolling Stone, and NPR, among others. Her debut feature film, Clementine, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and was made with the support of the Venice Biennale College-Cinema, the Sundance Institute, Film Independent, and IFP. Clementine recently won awards for best cinematography and best narrative feature film at the Bend Film Festival. Rec.On this episode we are joined by Jaume Balagueró & Paco Plaza. Jaume and Paco are directors of the movie Rec.Rec (stylized as [•REC]) is a Spanish supernatural zombie horror film franchise. The original 2007 film was shot in Barcelona, Spain and the title is an abbreviation of the word "record", as it appears on a video camera.Rec was followed by three sequels; Rec 2 in 2009, Rec 3: Genesis in 2012, and Rec 4: Apocalypse in 2014 as the final installment in the franchise.[2] Spanish company Filmax is responsible for the production of the REC franchise and released all four installments.The first film was remade in the United States as the 2008 film Quarantine.[7] Quarantine 2: Terminal was released in 2011. Although the sequel's plot picks up directly from where Quarantine leaves off, it is not a remake of Rec 2.
