Erik is the Founder & CEO of ShapeShift, a self-custody crypto platform. He has been one of the most influential individuals in the crypto space since soon after he first discovered Bitcoin in 2011 and became one of its earliest advocates. Previously, Erik launched SatoshiDICE in 2012 which allowed players to bet on the roll of a dice using bitcoin. In 2013, the company was sold for 126,315 BTC, worth around $11.5 million at the time but over $2 billion today. It was the first major acquisition of a company in the crypto space.
