Where does inspiration come from? How do we overcome adversity? Finding the drive to push through and get things done can come from some surprising places. Sometimes it is even found in the struggles of loved ones. Joey’s wife has a twin brother who went through an incredibly difficult health issue with impossible odds. Despite being young and healthy, Joey’s brother-in-law was given very little chance to survive. The weight of the situation affected Joey tremendously, causing him to question his beliefs and even overeat. Despite those impossible odds, he is now cancer-free. As Joey was so close to the situation, he saw how his brother-in-law dealt with the situation, and took inspiration from it. Those difficulties led Joey to ask himself important questions about himself and his faith, and those questions brought Joey out of a dark place and into a positive light and an appreciation of the life that he has.

[One Question] Living with Purpose with Rabbi Mois Navon from Mobileye
Rabbi Mois Navon is an ASIC Department Project Manager at Mobileye - an automotive-vision-systems giant. In the early 2000s, Navon, like many in his profession, found himself out of a job following the dot-com crash. “That was a very, very bad time to be on the street because everybody was on the street,” he recalled. A former colleague told him about Mobileye, a fledgling, 15-person startup operating out of a house in Jerusalem’s Ramot neighborhood. The Los Angeles native found work there as an engineer. Soon, Navon began teaching a lunchtime Torah class for a handful of secular colleagues. Nearly 17 years — and an Intel acquisition — later, his class routinely attracts a couple of dozen employees, both religious and secular. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn: [2:20] I introduce my guest, Rabbi Mois Navon. [4:10] What happens when you die? [9:00] Why is Israel known as the “Startup Nation.” [12:00] What it takes for a startup to succeed. [16:50] The lowest point in Rabbi Mois’ career. [19:30] Closing thoughts. In this episode… What are you on this earth for? Seriously, when was the last time you seriously considered that question and the implications of your answer? The truth is, most people don’t really think about their ultimate purpose in life. On this episode of Inspired Insider, you’ll hear from business leader and thought leader, Rabbi Mois Navon. In his conversation with Jeremy, Rabbi Mois opens up about what he believes happens when we die, why he refers to Israel as the “Startup Nation, the value of knowing your purpose, challenges faced along the way, and much more! You don’t want to miss a minute of this engaging episode featuring Rabbi Mois Navon’s story! When you think of your life - does it have a certain trajectory to it? Can you follow a clear direction that your life has taken from late childhood to your early adulthood all the way up to the present day? As he considered the question, “What happens when we die?” Rabbi Mois focused on the idea of collective consciousness. Taking his theory a step further, Rabbi Mois went on to explain that he believes there will be a review of your decisions in life and a time to consider whether you committed your life to do good or failing to do so. What do you believe about the afterlife? If you believe in an afterlife or not, the struggle and drive of life is a common experience that everyone can relate too. What will you do with your life? How have you identified the general thrust and purpose of your being here? While his journey hasn’t been an easy one, Rabbi Mois stresses the fact that even though all of the struggles, there has been a strong sense of purpose and resilience in his life.
