LLS: My journey with Lichen Sclerosus
It’s been awhile since I did a Life Lessons Series episode and I hope this one really helps those of you out there with autoimmune disorders. Two weeks before my first husband died, it was uncovered that I had an auto-immune disorder called Lichen Sclerosus which is basically a thinning and whitening of the skin which causes it to be itchy and peel off. It can happen anywhere on your body, but for me it presents in a very sensitive area, which you’ll hear all about in this episode. What I want you to take away from this episode is that instead of getting bogged down in what you have and how much it sucks, try treating it like a gift in some way. It doesn’t make it any less hard, but it does make you pay attention to what else is going on in your life. What could be causing a flare-up? Are you working too hard? Are you neglecting your spiritual work? Are you tired as hell? I know for me when I have a flare-up, it’s normally when I’ve got too much going on and I’m not resting. Always talk to your health professionals and do what you’ve got to do, but be aware of yourself and how you can be kinder to you first and foremost. How to get the attention of someone you admire
If you're trying to get the attention of someone you admire, first ask yourself how are you adding value to their lives by reaching out? Are you hitting them up with questions without building a relationship first? Are you commenting on their posts, buying their products, supporting their businesses, or are you just coming to them straight up like it's a transaction? You want their attention, but you really haven't earned it. I use myself as an example in this episode, and I want you to really think about how you're putting yourself forward to those you're trying to reach out to. Always focus on adding value and building relationships.Resources I Mentioned:The Thankyou Economy - Gary VJab Jab Jab, Right Hook - Gary VVote for me! https://australianpodcastawards.com/voteJoin the Waitlist to BUY MY BOOK!Instagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.com👑 Want to request a podcast? How I dropped the ball
Nobody has it all together. We all drop the ball sometimes. And you know what? Whoever you look up to, those celebrities who seem to have it all together on Instagram, guaranteed they are dropping the ball just as much as you, if not more. Because they’re human and we’re all making it up as we go. I stuff things up all the time but I know it’s part of the process and I trust that process. It’s not supposed to be easy. Life is hard but I know how to let the hard stuff strengthen me and teach me valuable lessons for next time. Let the process strengthen you. Don’t get caught up in self-doubt and all that junk. If I could say one thing to you right now, it’s this... When you drop the ball (because you will), don’t make it a big deal. Don’t get angry at yourself and make it a big drama and feel like everyone else is doing better than you. No one can do it all! If you dropped the ball you can pick it back up. Be aware of what happened, make a new plan and move forward. You got this. Social anxiety post lockdown
I received a fantastic question from one of my listeners Cynthia, and it happens to be the most perfect time to release this episode as Melbourne prepares for our lockdown to end tomorrow. The question is: How do I manage social anxiety coming out of lockdown?I am SO excited to get back out into the world y'all, but for some people, there is a lot of anxiety around how they will adjust to being back in the world with other people around. We've become so used to being in small groups with just our family, being in our houses most of the day, staying in our little bubble. What happens when we're able to freely move around again and all our public places, our shopping centres, our hair salons start having large numbers of people again. This may be anxiety-inducing for some of you and I want to let you know that's okay.Check-in with yourself. Journalling is a really good idea in this situation. Write down the feelings that you're having about what it's going to be like to be back out in public with other humans and think about what you need to feel safe.LINKS:Join the Waitlist to BUY MY BOOK!Instagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.com👑 Want to request a podcast? If you're struggling right now, listen to this.
If you're struggling right now, I want you to really sit with this and take it all in. It's okay if you're not doing well - 2020 is hard work y'all. But don't expect anything to change, don't expect to start to feel better if you're avoiding your issues. If you're running away from your problems, trying to sweep them under the rug and hope that they'll go away - I'm sorry but they won't go away. You're not meant to do this on your own. Who do you have in your life that you can lean on? Who can help support you when you're feeling awful? I have hot seat coaching that I do with my Sistahood women twice a month, and I hold space for the women in there. I coach them through the issues they're facing and we are there for each other. But not everyone in the Sistahood is jumping on those calls. Some may be avoiding the work. I'm here to tell you that you can't avoid the work. You need to run towards it. You need to stare it in the face, feel supported by someone else if you need to, and work through it.As I mentioned in this episode, download your free self-coaching cheat sheet HEREFollow me hereInstagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.com👑 Want to request a podcast? Social Media doesn't have to be a "dilemma"
The other night my husband and I watched a show on Netflix called "The Social Dilemma". If you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend checking it out. There was a lot of negativity portrayed in here around the use of social media and how it has turned into a bigger marketing machine than anyone could have anticipated. It got my husband and I thinking and chatting about how we use social media, and how it can be used for good but how important boundaries are when using it. If you have children and they are on social media, I can't even imagine how hard that is to navigate. My kids are only small so they're not on it yet, but if your kids are older there is a lot that needs to be thought about here. I think that social media is an incredibly powerful tool for business, for connecting with people, for feeling part of something but it can also spiral out of control. You can become addicted to watching other people's lives, wishing you were them, comparing yourself to them. In this episode today I give you some tips on how you can use social media in a positive way, setting up boundaries, talking about it with your kids and having times when you just leave your phone alone. I don't think social media needs to be a "dilemma", but like anything it needs your thought around how to use it properly.LINKS:Join the Waitlist to BUY MY BOOK!Watch The Social Dilemma on NetflixInstagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.com👑 Want to request a podcast? Confidence Is Not Comfortable
You might think that being confident means that you don’t get scared, you don’t feel anxious and you don’t 💩your pants. But my love, confidence is uncomfortable. You’re scared, you’re sweaty, your pooing your pants but you’re doing the damn thing.
