Kids Bible Stories

Matthew 15:29-39 We continue our compassion series. If you’ve missed the previous ones, please go back and listen as they build upon themselves.  Today, we are learning about compassion from the one who did it best and of course, we are talking about Jesus. The scriptures will show how He had compassion on the hungry crowd. We've heard something similar to this before when Jesus fed the  5,000. The kids are encouraged to look up Mark 6 & 8 and Matthew 14 &15 where both feedings are recorded. Parents, help them identify similarities and differences between them. Matthew 20:29-34 & Colossians 3:12  We continue our series learning what compassion is from the best teacher, Jesus. Today we hear Jesus show compassion to 2 blind men. The crowd tells the blind men to leave Jesus alone, but that doesn't stop them from crying out to their loving Savior. Matthew 14:13-21 Today, we begin a series about compassion. We begin by defining it and seeing how Jesus showed us how to be compassionate through His actions. Jesus had just received some sad news about John the Baptist but despite this, he had compassion on the crowd. He healed the sick and fed them too. There is so much to learn from this story that we will do it again in the future to accommodate talking about more of it. Acts 27:21-44   We pick up from last week's story where we find Paul on rough seas as he journeys to visit Caesar. Paul tells everyone about God's promise He has given him......and guess what!??!??! Every single one of those promises comes true! We discuss that God has given us promises too and read some of these from our Bible today. While we hopefully won't be on a creaky boat with waves crashing all around, we too have times where life feels stormy. Acts 25:10-12 & 27:1-26  This episode introduces Paul and gives a brief history about who he is. Paul is falsely being accused of breaking the law so he asked to be sent to Caesar, since he is a Roman citizen, and discuss his case with him. Today's story picks up here on this exciting journey. Paul boards the creaky ship bound for Italy but on the journey, they encounter rough seas. We will hear the promise God gives Paul and how Paul trusts God even in the storm. These episodes build upon themselves so please listen to Esther part 1 & 2 if you’ve missed them.  Queen Esther saw a problem and instead of pushing it off on someone else to solve, Mordecai reminded her that maybe God made her queen for that exact moment. The kids will be reminded that like  Esther,  God has specific plans for them. God knows we will see certain problems or someone needing help and He wants US to be the one to help. Our loving God wants us to be included in His wonderful plans....the plans may be small or big, but each day God has a purpose for US ! Luke 19:1-10 This is the classic story of Zacchaeus  who was lost but then, he was saved by Jesus. We all have been lost but there’s good news because  Jesus came to save you and me too.
