In the Bible, names are important; and this is even more true of the names given to God. More than 6,800 times, God has revealed his personal name to us—"YHWH". In the previous sermon, Pastor Kong shared on two names of God: Jehovah Jireh and Jehovah Rapha. In this sermon, he shares three other names of God, which will assure us deeply that as long as Yahweh is with us, everything will be okay!

God is our doorkeeper, opening doors that no one can shut. At times, He closes some doors for our protection, preparing us for greater blessings. Undeterred by the crowd, four men lowered their paralytic friend through the roof to reach Jesus; and he was gloriously healed to everyone’s amazement. To encounter the presence and power of Jesus, we must possess unyielding love and compassion, unwavering hope that confesses God’s promises, and persistent faith that never gives up. In doing so, may we be instrumental in unleashing Jesus' healing power to those around us.

On Father’s Day Weekend, Professor Byron Klaus shares a poignant story of Eli, a biblical father whose sons were scoundrels with no regard for the Lord. Despite failing as a father, Eli taught young Samuel how to listen to the voice of God. Eli became the bridge to Samuel’s destiny as mentor to King David, Israel’s greatest king. The word “father” may evoke pain for some, but a person’s true identity is only defined by God. As we lean on the Holy Spirit, may the grace of God powerfully transform and rearrange the patterns of our lives!

Genesis 22 is the most important story about Abraham. It was the climax of Abraham’s life and ministry—when God commanded him to sacrifice his only son Isaac on the altar. What was the real test for Abraham here in Genesis 22? By this time, he was already well-known for his faith. The test was not a test of faith, but of love. Will you still love God even if there is nothing in it for you? Is loving God enough a destiny for you?

In silence and solitude, we intentionally cultivate the fruit of the Spirit, which can never be done when we are always busy and distracted by all the multitasking of life.Pastor Kong shares about two men in the Old Testament, Gideon and Jacob, and through their stories, he encourages us to pursue more than visions and dreams, but an intimate communion with God. In that process, we will be changed into Christlikeness.

Drawing from the story of prophet Elijah (1 Kings 18-19), Pastor Kong Hee shares about how God was training his prophet to wean from the spectacular of the wind, earthquake, and fire, into a loving intimacy that only silence and solitude can bring. Jesus is inviting you to come away with him into that place of “the sound of sheer silence”, and there, he will restore your soul.

Once God starts a work in you and fills you with the Holy Spirit, He takes you on a journey. The baptism in the Holy Spirit will empower you to handle any situation in life. On this Pentecost weekend, the Holy Spirit wants to guide you in His power and the authority of Jesus; to be an influence that will bless those around you.
