Wu Yuzhuang: The Garden of Gethsemane
In this season of Lent, Pastor Wu Yuzhuang brings us back to the Garden of Gethsemane the night before Jesus went to the Cross. Pastor Zhuang teaches us that the Garden is four things: it is a place of supplication, where Jesus went to pray in His darkest hour; it is a place of support, where Jesus turned to his friends Peter, James and John to be with Him in prayer; it is a place of struggle, where Jesus asked the Father to take the cup of wrath away from Him; and it is a place of submission, where He declared not His but the Father’s will be done. Let this message remind you of the significance of Christ’s sacrifice for all mankind.

Bobby Chaw: The Holy Spirit Loves You
It is God’s personal presence that distinguishes us as His people. Therefore, in all your pursuits, pursue the presence of God. In the moving sermon, Pastor Bobby Chaw unpacks how, since the beginning of time, the Holy Spirit has been with us—in the Old Testament, He was in the pillar of cloud and pillar of fire, the burning bush, the glory that filled the temple. In the New Testament, we are His temple and He has come to abide in us forever. The Holy Spirit knows our every emotion—He laughs when we laugh, He cries when we cry—He loves us. Thus, let’s not quench the Holy Spirit, but welcome Him and enter His presence daily. Listen and find out how we can experience the precious presence of the Holy Spirit always, through thanksgiving, praise and worship.

Derek Dunn: The Supernatural Life
As the pressures of life hit us, it’s time to get deeper in God. We have been birthed by the power of the Holy Spirit and He has called us to be a supernatural people, with our faith based on the power of God, and not by our own strength. How can believers cross from the natural to the supernatural? Pastor Derek Dunn shares that there are three levels of the supernatural that we are called to move in. The first level is faith—following the leading of the Holy Spirit and moving upon the promises of God’s Word. The second level is the anointing. The anointing is what rubs off on you when you spend time in the presence of God. As we operate in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, there is no strive or struggle. The third level of the supernatural is the glory of God which is the weight of God’s presence manifested. The weight of God’s glory comes down, we need only yield and respond to Him. As we move in a greater dimension of the supernatural, may those around us be drawn by God’s presence and come into the saving knowledge of Christ.

Jeremy Choy: Letting Go To Take Hold
The Book of Mark is an action-packed Gospel—more miracles are chronicled here than in the other Gospels. In this sermon, Pastor Jeremy Choy encourages us to take hold of Jesus, because if we do, our lives will never be the same again. But taking hold of Jesus is not us holding Him ransom to our demands; instead, three things will happen to us if we allow Him to work in us. First, His timing rarely operates according to our hurried schedules. We may feel we need a miracle right this minute but taking hold of Jesus means we have to let go of our own fears and solutions and let God be God. Second, we will receive much more than we ask for when we take hold of Jesus; however, this often requires us to trust, wait and surrender to Him, and in that process, we are transformed. Third, when we take hold of Jesus, purpose and hope will be restored. No matter how lifeless a situation may be, Jesus can bring it back to life and make it flourish again. As Jesus said to Jairus: do not be afraid, only believe.

Aries Zulkarnain: A Better Year
In this Chinese New Year message, Pastor Aries Zulkarnain offers up food for thought on what makes for a better year. Most people consider “better” to having more than the year before, but what is God’s idea of “better”? Preaching out of Haggai 1, Pastor Aries reminds us to “give careful thought” to our ways. He posits two key points. One, in your busyness, do not forget to enjoy God. After all, the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever; we are to delight in the Lord. Are we enjoying Jesus or are we simply going through the motions to get His blessing? As much as we do great things for Jesus, we must enjoy having a relationship with Him. Two: In pursuit of our desires, let’s learn to be content in God. Being content is not adding to what you have, but subtracting from what your self desires (Jeremy Burroughs). As we enter the Year of the Tiger, we may experience a season of prosperity, where God’s blessings are on display in our lives, or a season of adversity, where God’s blessings come in disguise. Listen to this sermon and learn how “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Tim 6:6)

Bobby Chaw: Reflections On Prayer
In this encouraging message, Pastor Bobby Chaw exhorts the church to begin their 2022 with prayer, following Jesus’ habit of constantly being in prayer, even as He took His last breath. Pastor Bobby tells of how, because of the pandemic, he has cultivated a new routine of daily prayer, and five key truths. One, don’t despise the day of small beginnings. The only way to grow in prayer is to pray—start today and be consistent. Two, the Holy Spirit prays for us. When Pastor Bobby began recording prayers on voice message and sending them to his Chinese Service members, they were each ministered by the Holy Spirit. Three, God answers prayers. Our prayers trigger answers from God—take the first step to ask, and you will receive. Four, prayer is interaction with God, and in that process of interaction, transformation happens. Five, prayer is intimacy with God. Praying brings us into the presence of God, deeper and deeper each day. Listen to the sermon and take the step to make time for prayer and for God.

Lin Junxian: Build To Last
At the start of a new year, we often set out to accomplish goals. But more than having a vision, we need to build our lives on a firm foundation—a revelation from God and His Word. To have a strong foundation, we need to build before the storm comes. We do this by getting into the Word, prayer, ministry and godly relationships. The fact is, storms of life will come—and when they do, we must be ready to stand firm. To have a strong foundation, we need to build below the surface. Often, behind a brave front, there are issues we struggle with below the surface. The Holy Spirit wants to dig out the dirt and fill the void with His strength and love. Finally, to have a strong foundation, we need to build beyond the present. Instead of focusing on short-term results, we need to build our lives with eternity in our hearts and minds. When we have Christ as the cornerstone of our foundation, then every storm and valley that we go through, we will withstand and overcome!

Wu Yuzhuang: Christ’s Interruption
Pastor Wu Yuzhuang shares the account of how Jesus interrupted the 2 disciples on the road to Emmaus and changed the course their lives. When Jesus “interrupts” our lives, He is with us every step of the way, walking with us. When unmet expectations bring disappointment and disillusionment in life, He wants us to know that while He may not always give us what we want, He will always ensure we have what we need. We may go through interruptions or difficult situations in life—but when we cannot see Him in our circumstances, we can find God in His Word. Like the 2 disciples, we have a choice to let Jesus pass us by, or invite Him to stay with us. When we are able to see Christ in life’s interruptions, we will experience His presence and our purpose will be restored once again!

Bobby Chaw: Mustard Seed Faith
The Bible says that as believers, we all have a measure of faith, albeit the size of a mustard seed. Yet, just a mustard seed size of faith is enough to do the impossible. The key lies in knowing how to activate our faith. Pastor Bobby Chaw shares 4 ways in which we can do that. First, we need to meditate on God’s Word. By doing so, we allow the Word of God to cleanse our thoughts and as God’s Word saturates our mind, transformation will take place. Second, we are to believe and confess God’s Word. Confessing the Word of God was how Jesus prayed in the Lord’s Prayer. Third, we need to receive a clear vision from the Holy Spirit; just like how Abraham began his faith journey with a vision from the Lord and went on to become the father of faith. And finally, we simply need to get started. Action is essential to activate our faith. Mustard seed faith with action will produce great results. As we activate our mustard seed faith, may it grow and lead us to encounter Jesus every day of our lives.

Kong Hee: God Dwells In Your Darkness
It is Christmas Weekend at City Harvest and we are celebrating the Light of the world—Jesus! It was against a backdrop of the darkest winter that Jesus was born into this world. This is the good news of Christmas, that Jesus will come into your dark times, your difficult circumstances and struggles; and you will receive grace and strength to withstand your problems. In our darkest moments, God is closer to us than we think. The challenges of life will come to the best of us, but He promised to be with us in the midst of it. He doesn’t want to change our circumstances, He wants to change us; so that we may develop patience and character, to be more like Jesus. Just as a seed needs to be buried in the dark soil for life to come forth, so will the light of Christ shine through us in the darkest times. Invite Jesus into your darkness and witness how He will take you through the fire and the flood as you put your trust in Him and depend wholly on Him!
