I get to interview the brilliant author and entrepreneur Jordan Raynor, who shares why our work matters to God and to the people around us. We'll also spend a few minutes journaling about how we can honor God in our work.   How to Be Proud of the Work That You Do Work is hard-especially if you're feeling bored or burned out at your job. In this video, I'll share one important truth that will help you wake up excited, not overwhelmed, about the day ahead.   How God Uses You in Your Work with Jordan Raynor Have you ever felt like the only way you can serve God is by becoming a pastor or joining a full-time ministry? Today, my friend Jordan Raynor explains why all types of work matter to God.   Does God Care About Your Work? "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." Colossians 3:23 (NIV)   This verse completely changed my perspective on work. I don't know about you, but when I know that God cares about the details of my work, it makes me want to step it up, give it my best effort, and work to please him. Whether you're the CEO in the corner office, or you're waiting tables, or you're a stay-at-home mom, God wants each of us to put our entire heart into our work. Spend a few minutes journaling your answers to these questions: Where do you see God in your work right now? How can you remember that God is using you right now in your work? How can you do your work unto the Lord more intentionally?

We'll hear from author, speaker and Bible teacher Angie Smith about how to trust God when we don't understand what He's doing. And finally, we'll end with a few journal questions about how God's word encourages us through difficulty.   When Things Don't Go Your Way, Remember This Are you feeling lost? When we're in the middle of hard things, we quickly lose perspective and give up hope. In this video, I'll share an important truth that will help you find the courage to keep going.   Do THIS When Life Doesn't Make Sense with Angie Smith When you're going through something hard, it's easy to question, God, where are you? I sat down with my good friend Angie Smith and talked about how to trust God even when we don't understand the story He's writing.   How Your Story Fits Into God's Story "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope." Romans 15:4 (NIV)   From beginning to end, the Bible is full of hope. When we open the Scriptures, we find encouragement for our story by reading about the greater story. Here are a few journal questions to help unpack this idea: Have you ever thought of the Bible as one big story? What is the point of the story of Scripture? What part of God's story do you want to know more about?

3 Steps to Get Excited About Your Life Again with Harris III   0:59 What to Do When Life Gets Boring 12:00 Is THIS Stealing Your Joy? with Harris III 35:28 What Fills You With Wonder? Resources Christy's Devotional - Living True: 40 Days to Get Back to You Get back to you with my brand-new devotional, Living True: 40 Days to Get Back to You. Sign up for the free 7-Day Time Finder challenge to learn simple things you can do to take back your time. https://bit.ly/3aeZSHK     Y'all, today's episode is so much fun. We're talking about how to get excited about life again, just like we were when we were kids. I also get to have an awesome conversation with Harris III (an illusionist, speaker, author and entrepreneur) on the topic of wonder. Finally, we'll wrap up the show with a few journal questions.   What to Do When Life Gets Boring Between all the errands and chores and work tasks and commitments, it's easy to feel like you're running a business instead of actually living your life. If you're tired of going through the motions, check out these three steps that will help you break out of boredom and experience more joy and wonder.   Is THIS Stealing Your Joy? with Harris III According to Harris III, wonder is "A childlike state in which we have permission to believe in a story we have yet to see." The problem is, so many of us live with negative stories running through our heads all day. But it doesn't have to be that way. Harris III shares some practical tips on how to change your story and see limitless possibilities for your life.   What Fills You With Wonder? "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" Psalm 8:3-4 (NIV)   God is performing miracles around us all the time. But often, we're so caught up in our crazy lives that we don't even notice what He's doing! When we actually pause to look at the world around us and see how creative and powerful our God is, we'll be filled with a sense of wonder. I want to give you some journal questions to help you process this: What fills you with wonder? What gets in the way of you being filled with wonder and awe? What's one thing you want to do to take action on this idea of wonder so you can create it in your own life?

I also get to interview the brilliant entrepreneur Pat Flynn, who shares tactical advice on turning creative ideas into real businesses. And we'll end the show with a few journal questions about overcoming the obstacles that stand between us and our dreams.   The One Thing You Need to Do to Reach Your Goals Do you have a dream or a goal that always seems out of reach? Then you're probably missing this one simple strategy.   What You Need to Know to Build Your Business with Pat Flynn Creatives and entrepreneurs are yes-people. We have a million ideas a minute! So how do you decide which ones are worth your time and attention? I asked Pat Flynn that exact question in our interview. He has lots of practical advice to share about balancing our current projects with our squirrel-brain ideas.   What Are Your Goals and Dreams in Life? "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." Galatians 6:7 (NIV)   I love this verse because it reminds us that we are responsible for the choices we make in life. We're going to get results based on the actions we take-good or bad. Yes, God is at work in us, but we get to partner with Him. That's pretty incredible, y'all.  Spend a few minutes digging into this concept by answering these journal questions: What are those things you've been thinking about but haven't done anything about yet? What's one small action step you can take this week? What comes to your mind when you think about "You reap what you sow"?

Today, we'll talk about three practical ways to stop worrying. Plus, I get to interview author and counselor Sissy Goff about how to help our kids when they're facing mental health challenges. And we'll wrap up the show with a few journal questions about how we can worry less and trust God more.   3 Ways to Stop Worrying There are a million things we can worry about. And when your thoughts start to run away from you, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and stuck. Here are three ways to stop worrying before it gets out of control.   What to Do When Your Child Is Anxious with Sissy Goff My guest for today, Sissy Goff, has been a counselor for 30 years. In our interview, she shares practical tips on how to spot the warning signs of anxiety in our kids and how to love them well through mental health challenges.   Don't Worry About THIS . . . "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life . . ." Matthew 6:25 (NIV)   I love this passage because it reminds us that it's actually possible to train our minds not to worry! Instead of listening to negative thoughts and worrying about the same old problems, we can choose to focus on our heavenly Father, who loves us and is always taking care of us. Easier said than done, right? To help make this truth a reality, spend some time journaling your answers to these questions:  What do you worry about the most? How does Matthew 6:25-34 help you remember not to worry? What comfort do you find when you remember that God will take care of you?

(I know some of you will disagree with me on this, which is why I want you to tune in!) I'll also talk to my friend Crystal Paine about her new book, Love-Centered Parenting, and how we can love ourselves while loving our kids. And we'll close today's show with a few journal questions.   Why Loving Yourself Doesn't Have to be Selfish Some of you are already mad at me for bringing this up. As Christians, we're not supposed to love ourselves, right? Here are three reasons why self-love is actually a good thing.   Become a Great Parent with Crystal Paine You can't offer something you don't have. So, if you're not receiving the love of your heavenly father, how can you give love to others? In today's interview, Crystal Paine-author, speaker and entrepreneur-talks about her new book, Love-Centered Parenting, and why loving our kids well starts with letting God love us.   Love Others (as Yourself) "The most important [commandment]," answered Jesus, "is this . . . 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29-31 (NIV)   When Jesus says to "love your neighbor as yourself," he's implying that we already do love ourselves. It's our gut instinct to love and protect and take care of ourselves, so we should have that same level of care for the people around us. Let's unpack this idea with a few journal questions: Who's someone you love? Describe your love for that person. Be honest: What do you think about yourself? Why is it hard for you to love yourself?

We'll wrap up today's show by journaling about making quiet time a priority.   3 Ways to Make Time for Quiet Time For years, I struggled to read scripture, even though I know how powerful it is! But thankfully, I discovered a system that helped me overcome the obstacles that were keeping me from time with God. In this video, I unpack my system in three simple steps.   How to Enjoy Reading Your Bible with Brittany Ann The REAL problem most of us have with our quiet time is that we're not passionate about spending time with God. In today's interview, I talk to author and Bible teacher Brittany Ann about her new book, Fall in Love with God's Word. She'll share practical strategies about bridging the gap between wanting to read more and actually doing it.   You Need THIS to Read Your Bible "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)   All of the things we could ever want or need in life are found in God's word. So, why does it feel like a chore to open up our Bibles? I encourage you to dig deep on this topic by responding to these journal questions:   How do you feel about reading your Bible? What would help you have alone time? What is one thing you could do this week to give yourself what you need to have that alone time?

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty." Philippians 4:11-12 (NIV)   Even with a spotless, Pinterest-perfect house, we can still be unhappy with what we have. That's why this verse from Philippians is so powerful: It reminds us that with the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be content in any circumstance! Let's bring this concept home by answering these journal questions: What do you love about your home? How does it change the way you view your home when you set your mind on what you're grateful for? How can you practice being content in your home, your life, and your situations right now?
