S11 Ep103: Caledonia Dreaming
In this week’s episode of The Cycling Podcast, Daniel Friebe and Lionel Birnie are joined by one of Belgium’s voices of cycling, TV commentator Renaat Schotte, to preview this weekend’s elite World Championship road race in Scotland.
After the usual news round-up and a summary of the early moves on this year’s transfer market, our thoughts turn to Sunday’s course - and particularly the 14.3km Glasgow city circuit which will decide who inherits Remco Evenepoel’s rainbow bands, or indeed whether The Baby Cannibal can retain his title.
In the last part of the episode, we change pace with some final reflections on the Tour de France - the drama of the yellow jersey battle, what will be our lasting memories of the 2023 edition and other salient talking points.
