In this episode, we wrap up the mini-series on the essay Redeeming Fatherhood. In it, Peter shares more of his personal story as well as some practical ways to engage in the dialogue of forgiveness, as well as he recites writings from Jon Tyson’s Intentional Father that can be a helpful tool in honoring the men in our lives.

In this episode, we continue the discussion on the subject of forgiveness and its role in our lives as men, particularly as fathers. Also, Peter gives some exciting updates on what’s on the horizon for Kinsmen Journal in the next few months.

Forgiveness. It’s the foundation of our Christian faith. We simply can’t give what we don’t have. As followers of Jesus, we’ve been forgiven of much, as God’s grace is abound in each of our lives, yet we often find it difficult to extend forgiveness to others, whether we realize it or not. In this multi-episode discussion in the Fatherhood section of Volume I, Peter shares more of his personal story of faith, and how God continues to refine us throughout our entire lives. 

In this brief episode, Peter shares thoughts on recent gatherings for men called Kinsmen: Table. He also opens the dialogue as to how we can better create environments for men to find community-based on Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Life Together. Peter also shares about personal transition and what’s ahead for Kinsmen, which is very exciting.

Is fear holding you back? In this episode, Dr. Jarrett shares personal stories of how God has shaped his life through wilderness and adventure. Accepting the invitation by God to take risks with him is the impetus for a fulfilled and adventurous life. In this episode, we open the Fatherhood section of Kinsmen Journal – Volume 1, with a story about fatherhood, healing, and the power of presence in a boy’s life. Chris Bryant shares about his grandaddy “Mitch,” and the pivotal moments that helped him rebuild his life at 40. Chris’s story is a powerful reminder of what happens when we make ourselves available to the lives of others, particularly our children and our grandchildren. Often times the deposits we make as fathers into the lives of our family aren’t fully realized until our children are much older, but this shouldn’t detract us from the value of our consistent presence each day. Our duty, our ongoing responsibility is to show up each and every day.
