The federal prison system now has more employees than inmates, according to Correctional Service figures. It follows a finding by the Correctional Investigator that Canada has one of the costliest prison systems in the world. The “more than 20,000 employees” outnumber 14,837 inmates in 43 federal penitentiaries, figures showed.
