Was that justified? Is the Public Order Act a good way to stop Just Stop Oil & Extinction Rebellion? Or is it a serious infringement of civil liberties? * Ireland's new hate crime bill would see people criminalised simply for possessing content that is "deemed" hateful against certain protected characteristics, including gender, race and religion. Simply having a meme or whatsapp message on one's phone, or a book on one's shelf would be enough to fall foul of this law. It is the most draconian piece of legislation we have ever seen.
