Talkin' Rock with Wendy Dio and Richrath Project 3:13's Michael Jahnz
Anyone who knows me knows I'm a huge Dio fan. I grow up on that stuff, so it was a no-brainer when I was contacted to talk with his widow, Wendy. We discussed lots about Ronnie's life through rainbow, Sabbath, solo and beyond. One of the reasons Ronnie joined Black Sabbath was because Wendy informed him they only had $800 in savings. How does that happen to a big-time rock star? I found out. What did he listen to outside of rock? What did he think about his fans? And lots more. Then, it's Michael Jahnz from the Richrath Project 3:13. REO Speedwagon founding member Gary Richrath's legacy lives on through this project. I asked Michael about his past moving to southern California in the 80's meeting up with Gary (which is a crazy story) and putting together some of these songs with Gary playing and doing backing vocals on a few. Click the link below to learn more about this project and to get your cd/album. It's another double-header, this time from a band celebrating it's 50th anniversary, and a much newer band. Charlie Huhn has been with Foghat for 21 years. He talks about getting in the band, playing with the guys and lots of stories from his rich history in the music business. He tells stories of rockin' with Ted Nugent. Should he be in the Rock Hall? Charlie answers that questions. What was it like to play stadiums in Nugent's peak and TONS more! Dead Eyes is a newer Metalcore band and on this episode front man, Zack Willaims calls in.
