Mistakes: In retrospect, I think asking Delia if she wanted to be a "questioner" or "sing the songs" may have framed her options as binary, when it didn't have to be. I also think this metaphor could have been problematic because she earlier said she was studying music, likely something she greatly enjoys. Suggesting (even remotely) that she might have to give up music to progress forward I think was a gaffe on my part. Sorry also about the noise. While we both likely understand that I have no control over the background noise in this spot, I am sorry for the challenging audio. Something that comes with filming in public, I suppose.

Simone and i have a wonderful discussion about how she arrived at her belief in God and what the belief does for her after she left religion. For her the belief in God provides a feeling of positivity and protection which allows her to face life's daily challenges. We discuss the relationship between the truth of a belief and how much we invest and rely on it. There is a beautiful moment at the end of this talk in which Simone empowers herself to take on these challenges.

Mormons are very clear about their epistemology. That helps in a discussion about their method of arriving at truth. They pray to know their beliefs are true. Simple. But is prayer a reliable method? And how would we know? How do we put this method to the test?

Ep 347: Dialogue | Anthony Magnabosco | Jason | Divine Revelation (Atheists Can't Know Anything)
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Recorded: 12 June 2019
Released: 1 August 2019
Uploaded: 1 August 2019
Summary: Jason appears to be using a variation of the presuppositionalist argument for Christianity in that no one can know anything until a person has a divine revelation from the Christian God. Interestingly, the confidence in his divinely revealed view also appears to require a mixture of evidence, faith, and hope. While we didn't really get a chance to explore how all of those work in tandem, I'm hopeful that we'll be able to meet again and clear things up, as well as try to answer any questions he may have for me.
