Ep 424: Dialogue | Dr. Peter Boghossian and Anthony Magnabosco | How Faith Ends
With Dr. Peter Boghossian and Anthony Magnabosco
Summary: Dr. Peter Boghossian invited me to speak with a class about atheism and Street Epistemology over video chat, and we ended up having a wonderful and frank discussion on a variety of subjects. The topic of faith came up twice during our talk, which I've combined into the version you see here.

Ep 422: Dialogue | Anthony Magnabosco | Caleb (2B) | Thresholds (Creationist Bridges The Gap)
Summary: After sharing a few emails to coordinate, Caleb and I agreed to meet to revisit his God belief and discuss our previous encounter. This is the second half of our second talk.
Watch video of talk here: https://youtu.be/gPJsXjwhVSo
While it took me some time to upload this second talk with Caleb (recorded December 2018), I'm glad I finally did. I think our second talk shows how much growth Caleb and I experienced over the years since our first encounter in 2014. Even as I watch this encounter today I can see improvements since this chat. This can be both exciting and frustrating, particularly when people may have only watched older examples, form a view on SE, and then miss out on the improvements we've developed over the years. In short, never stop watching SE videos—we're evolving rapidly!
The banging noise from the metal flashing by the bridge as people passed frustrated me when this was being filmed (you should have a pretty good idea of how I am with background noise by now), but now I can see these random interruptions help call attention to the thresholds people have when it comes to the quality of their supporting reasons. Camera shakes (and in some cases, louder bangs) were added in post for added effect.
Due to the length of this chat, I edited a few minutes of footage here and there, but nothing to alter anything significant.

Ep 420: Dialogue | Anthony Magnabosco | Caleb (2A) | Thresholds (Creationist Bridges The Gap)
Summary: After sharing a few emails to coordinate, Caleb and I agreed to meet at a location of his choice to revisit his God belief and discuss our previous encounter. This is the first half of our second talk.
Watch video(Part 1 of 2) here: https://youtu.be/IXzCdauGc_8
While it took me some time to upload this second talk with Caleb (recorded December 2018), I'm glad I finally did. This idea of the "totality of the circumstances" (or in other words "there's just so many reasons for my belief that shaking a few reasons won't affect my overall confidence that the claim is true") is very common, albeit frustrating when you encounter it. If a reason serves to bolster one's confidence, the realization that a reason cannot be justified to one's own standard should have a corresponding impact if it is no longer a viable option in the mix.
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Recorded: 4 December 2018
Released: 26 November 2020
Note: Our first chat was recorded on June 1, 2014, which was the same day I arrived with the printed contradiction for Street Preacher Troy (see the Bonus section of this video for that).

Street Epistemology: Bridging the Chasm | (Perplexity)
