Integra o grupo de pesquisa Cevis, com trabalhos realizados sobre a violência na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, especialmente nas favelas e bairros pobres da região metropolitana. Desenvolve atualmente pesquisas sobre a relação entre a música e a contestação social na agitada década de 60.
