#156: I Didn’t Mean to Do That! Impulsivity and ADHD

SHINING WITH ADHD EPISODE #156: I Didn’t Mean to Do That! Impulsivity and ADHDThe Childhood Collective5/15/2024SUMMARY“Why did you do that?” “What were you thinking?”Sound familiar? When our kids act impulsively, it is easy for us to get frustrated and confused. We might start asking our kids why they behaved the way they did. The truth is, initially, they often don’t even know. Once everyone is regulated, it is easier to figure out what happened. As parents, we naturally want our kids with ADHD to slow down and consider their actions, but it's a challenge. It can be heartbreaking to see impulsive behavior negatively impact their social life or lead to consequences. That's why today, we’re sharing strategies to help them develop through these situations.MEET OUR TEAMWe are Lori, Mallory, and Katie.
