045: What To Do If Your Financial Information Is Compromised
You've probably heard about the major security breach that took place with Equifax recently right? Well in the event that your financial information is compromised as a result of a security breach, there are some key things you need to do to minimize the impact and protect yourself from potential credit fraud and identity theft and I'm taking through them on this quick episode. They are as follows: 1. Check your credit: As mentioned in this episode, you can get your free credit report at https://www.annualcreditreport.com 2. Consider credit monitoring or a credit freeze: You can get credit monitoring or a freeze on your credit directly from each of the 3 major credit bureaus - Equifax, Experian & Transunion - on their websites. You can also get credit monitoring independently from companies like myfico.com, creditkarma.com, creditsesame.com etc 3. Change any online passwords and pins associated your financial information Do you follow Clever Girl Finance on Instagram yet?
