066: Marriage & Money - Communication, Forgiveness, Compromise & Financial Success With Tai McNeely

On this episode my guest is the amazing Tai McNeely who is the founder of hisandhermoney.com, alongside her husband Talaat. They also have an incredible podcast and YouTube Channel called "The His & Her Money Show". In this episode Tai shares the initial challenges she faced managing money in the early days of her marriage including working with her husband to pay off over $30,000 of debt in their first year of marriage. We talked about how financial roles can change in a marriage, setting goals as a couple, managing disagreements about money etc and Tai shares some key advice on how to be successful doing all of these things together with your significant other - the key ingredient? Communication. We talked about the guilt women feel taking the back step in their marriages or as stay at home moms and why it's important to understand the value of all you do as a wife and as a mother as well as the value of what you contribute to your family. We also talked about why it's important that you are both involved in your household finance. Tai also shared some of her big accomplishments that put her on the path to financial success including paying off her 1st car in just 11 months which she purchased for $13,000 at the age of 19 and putting herself through college debt free.
