Atleti and Real go again in Madrid derby as Bayern, Bayer and Dortmund all lose

Jimbo’s joined by Julien Laurens, Pol Ballús and Seb Stafford-Bloor for a deep-dive into domestic and European matters across the continent. Last week’s Champions League first legs left some results more conclusive than others… we’re looking at you, PSV 1-7 Arsenal! But there’s still plenty of intrigue with the ties between Liverpool and PSG, Real and Atleti and Barca and Benfica finely poised. In La Liga, Real warmed up for their trip across the capital with a 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, while Atleti were on the wrong end of that scoreline in a dramatic late defeat at Girona. Meanwhile Barcelona’s game with Osasuna was postponed just 20 minutes before kick-off following the sudden death of first team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia. In Ligue 1, PSG’s B-team made light work of Rennes to move 16 points clear at the top of the table - while Paulo Fonseca began his nine month (!) touchline ban as he watched his side beat Nice 2-0 from the stands to put themselves right in the mix for European football next season. Max Callegari - host of Pressing on Canale 5 - joins us to run the rule over all the Serie A action, which included humiliation for Juve, a first win in six for Napoli and spookily similar comebacks for Milan and Inter. And in the Bundesliga, there was history as for the first time in nearly 20 years Bayern, Leverkusen and Dortmund all lost on the same matchday.Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend and Champions League teases (00.40)• PART 2: La Liga review - Mixed fortunes for Madrid sides as tragedy hits Barca (09.40)• PART 3: Ligue 1 review - PSG flying high as Fonseca begins his touchline ban (19.35)• PART 4: Serie A review - Juve out of the title race as Milan sides stage 3-2 comebacks (33.30)• PART 5: Bundesliga review - big boys all beaten as Bayer, Bayern and Dortmund lose (45.30) Hosted on Acast. Man United frustrate Arsenal again while Forest formula foils Man City

Jimbo is joined in the studio by Daniel Storey, Tim Spiers and Adrian Clarke as the race for Champions League football hots up.Arsenal can only draw at Old Trafford, allowing Liverpool’s lead to extend to 15 points. With goals still proving an issue outside of Eindhoven, could their place in the top 5 be under threat? The same question has to be asked of Man City who lose to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. How did Pep get Nuno’d again?Maybe the game of the weekend is at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as an impressive Bournemouth somehow only draw after taking a 2-0 lead. Would Andoni Iraola ever consider taking the Spurs job?Plus where it’s going wrong for Cole Palmer and why it’s going right for Crystal Palace.Produced by Charlie Jones.RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1a: Man United 1-1 Arsenal (04.30)• PART 1b: Chelsea 1-0 Leicester (12.00) • PART 1c: Spurs 2-2 Bournemouth (15.00) • PART 2a: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Man City (23.00)• PART 2b: Brighton 2-1 Fulham (32.00)• PART 2c: Liverpool 3-1 Southampton (35.00)• PART 3a: Crystal Palace 1-0 Ipswich (42.00)• PART 3b: Wolves 1-1 Everton (47.00)• PART 3c: Brentford 0-1 Aston Villa (52.00) Hosted on Acast. Julien Laurens ponders whether this young team can go to Anfield and outplay the Reds again.Art De Roche was in Eindhoven to see Arsenal secure a scarcely believable 7-1 win over PSV. Where did that come from and could we see it again at Old Trafford on Sunday?Elsewhere, there are sensational goals at the Bernabeu as Real hold a narrow advantage over Atletico, while it’s a nightmare night for Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen against Kane and Kompany’s Bayern. The Premier League weekend sees Forest host Man City in a big game for the top 4/5 race. Cesc’s Como shock Conte’s Napoli, while intriguing last 16 ties await

Jimbo’s got Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Rory Smith and Pol Ballús alongside him for all the latest continental chatter.Friday afternoon’s Champions League draw presented some fascinating match-ups including Real v Atleti, Bayern v Bayer and PSG v Liverpool. We’ve got a closer look at all those ties with the round of 16 looming…In La Liga, it was a rare weekend where all three title challengers registered three fairly comfortable wins! It leaves Barca and Real locked on 54 points at the top, with Atleti just a point behind.Over in France there was plenty of drama on and off the pitch - with cowboy hats, calls of corruption and meltdowns caught on CCTV. But away from all that, the table shows that PSG have extended their lead at the top to 13 points after their 3-2 victory at Lyon.Speaking of corruption - Slovenian ref Slavko Vincic was parachuted in to referee the Istanbul derby after a season marred by controversial officiating and allegations of foulplay. It was a rather eventful evening as Galatasaray said they would "initiate criminal proceedings" against Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho after claiming he made "racist statements" following the teams' 0-0 draw. For a closer look at Serie A we’re joined by Sky Italia’s Filippo Benincampi - as Cesc’s Como got the better of Conte’s Napoli to cost them top spot, Inter taking full advantage with their 1-0 win over Genoa. And in the Bundesliga, there were finally signs of life for Dortmund as Niko Kovac picked up his first league win courtesy of a four-goal haul from Serhou Guirassy, aided by super sub and Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka.Produced by Lucy Oliva.RUNNING ORDER:• PART 1: Moments of the weekend and Champions League round of 16 teases (00.40)• PART 2: La Liga review - the big three all win while Antony sees red (07.15)• PART 3: Ligue 1 review - chaos off and on the pitch for Lyon v PSG and Auxerre v Marseille (19.00)• PART 4: Galatasaray 0-0 Fenerbahce fallout (35.00)• PART 5: Serie A review - Napoli feel the pressure, plus could Gasperini and Atalanta’s love affair be coming to an end? (43.25)• PART 5: Bundesliga review - Dortmund finally show signs of life with Bayer v Bayern on the horizon (57.00) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
