Lewis Small collection of Lewis’ more famous essays This book is one to return to again and again Lewis sets the boundaries of what it is like to seek glory   Antiloidoreo: This word means to “revile again”, returning bile for bile, spite for spite Used in 1 Peter 2:23 When someone else starts the sinning, the easiest thing in the world is to pay him back in his own coin But this is precisely what Jesus did not do

Happy Plodding!   Show Notes:   Campus Intoleristas: The other night Wilson took part in an event on campus that was full of young intoleristas Too often conservative Christians look at campus radicals and see the justice warrior type and forget these are kids who have never had anyone love them enough to say no We need to see campus activism as being a thin veneer cover to a vast cavernous father-hunger Campus politics is not a political problem, it is a spiritual problem   Blood Bought World: Written by Toby Sumpter This book has an amazing ability to present basic, orthodox, confessional, biblical truths in a new and robust way A very fabulous book, go get it!   Antithesis: Refers to the opposition that false information or knowledge present to the faith Found once in the Greek New Testament: 1 Tim. 6:20-21 Two thousand years later, and some folks are still at it

Happy Plods!   Show Notes:   Woke Evangelicalism: By abandoning discussion of Christ and His cross we are abandoning any hope for a reconciliation A reparation movement is going to make race relations far worse Wilson is not opposed to the universal harmony that the woke are pursuing. Rather, he is opposed to misguided proposals that will make things worse   Nation of Rebels: Written by Andrew Potter and Joseph Heath This book shows that the idea of counterculture in America is an illusion It shows that the counterculture is the mainstream culture There is no genuine counterculture in America today The church should become a true counterculture   Antidiatithemai: Rendered as those who set themselves up in opposition Found in 2 Tim. 2:25 This native opposition is hard to overcome Paul says that it is sometimes overcome by means of meek and patient instruction

Lewis On Politics and Natural Law: Written by Justin Dyer and Micah Watson C.S. Lewis claims to be bored by politics, but this book shows C.S. Lewis was a sophisticated political thinker He is profoundly conservative in his outlook on politics, and is very much a classical liberalist If you are interested in political theory, natural law, political science, and C.S. Lewis then this is your book   Anosios: Rendered as unholy Used in 1 Tim. 1:9, 2 Tim. 3:2 Too many Christians see holiness in terms of a seraphic countenance and an implied halo, and thusly see unholiness as the mere absence of that -- a state of being ordinary But as Paul uses unholy here, it means polluted and defiled
