In one of the most beloved stories in the Bible, Jesus shows compassion, tenderness, and emotion in response to a very sad and tragic event—the untimely death of a close, personal friend named Lazarus. Although Lazarus' sisters, Martha and Mary, had asked Jesus to come quickly, Jesus delayed coming until Lazarus had died so that He could display a greater miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead! In this story from John 11, Pastor Gary answers two questions: (1) what does it teach us about Jesus that we should emulate? and (2) what does it teach us about death that we should anticipate? There are a lot of views and opinions in the world about who Jesus is.  Many world religions say that He was a prophet, or a great teacher, or an enlightened man. But the best way we can understand the identity of Jesus is to examine His words and His works in the Bible—who He said He was and what He did to prove His identity.  Jesus teaches us plainly that He is God, but we may not understand it if we don’t know the language and context behind His words and works.  Join Pastor Gary today as he teaches today from John 10 on the identity and deity of Jesus.

There are plenty of people who have physical sight but are spiritually blind. In other words, they can see things with the natural eye but they are blind to the things of God and who Jesus is. In today’s study from John 9, Jesus heals a man born blind who also later receives the miracle of spiritual sight. Jesus opens the eyes of his heart to understand who He is. We all need that miracle—but beware, there will be people who will not share your joy of knowing Jesus. Some will reject you, disown you, or dismiss you, but none of that matters. Jesus accepts you, loves you, and died to save you.

What is TRUTH?  It is a question that Pontius Pilate asked Jesus before His crucifixion, and it is a question people are still asking today. There is great confusion in our world about truth. You will hear people say, “My truth vs. your truth” and “Truth is relative—it depends on the person and the situation,” but in response to Pilate’s question, Jesus said, “…For this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” (John 18:37). For us to understand truth in a relative world, we must rely on God and His Word (the Bible) as the source and standard by which we evaluate what is true and what is false. In today’s teaching, Pastor Gary discusses some of the false narrative that the culture is presenting as truth and gives a Biblical perspective on the topic of truth from John 8.
