The lead organization for the Army lessons learned program is the Center for Army Lessons Learned, or CALL. CALL is well known throughout the force for embedding personnel with operations, collecting insights and observations, conducting studies of Army and Joint operations, and producing pocket sized handbooks that cover a variety of topics. However, best practices and lessons learned are not actual doctrine.
