Breaking Doctrine is the podcast of the US Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. The podcast will explore timely topics of interest, regarding current and emerging Army and joint doctrine. Episode 12 - Lessons Learned
In this episode of Breaking Doctrine, our host, Captain Wyatt Harper discusses the relationship between Army Doctrine and Army Lessons Learned and how the lessons that we learn influence our doctrine. The lead organization for the Army lessons learned program is the Center for Army Lessons Learned, or CALL. CALL is well known throughout the force for embedding personnel with operations, collecting insights and observations, conducting studies of Army and Joint operations, and producing pocket sized handbooks that cover a variety of topics. However, best practices and lessons learned are not actual doctrine.
