AR #215 – Fire-breathing Biblical Language w/Doug Wilson

Are Christians allowed to use cutting language when dealing with sin? Is it ungodly to use dramatic and graphic language when confronting sinful behavior in a culture? Listen-in to this new episode of Apologia Radio in which we work through the text of the Bible and examine how biblical heroes and prophets spoke about sin. In modern Evangelicalism we often find a standard of “pious” language that ends up making the writers of Scripture look purveyors of coarse jesting. Is it appropriate to hope that preachers of a false gospel cut off their own genitals? Is it appropriate to refer to homosexuals as dogs? How about an unfaithful church as a whore? The Bible does. How do we think about this in a way that glorifies God? How do we use the “serrated edge” in a way that is not gratuitous? Pastor Douglas Wilson joins us to explain how. AR #211 – Killing Philando Castile & God’s Law

On this newest episode we review the tragic killing of Philando Castile. Many in our society are reeling from the recent news that Jeronimo Yanez, a St. Anthony, Minnesota, police officer was acquitted after shooting at Castile 7-times during a traffic stop with two other occupants (his girlfriend Diamond Reynolds and her 4-year old daughter). How should we, specifically as Christians, think through this tragedy? Many in the black community are hurting. Many feel as if there are injustices that are not being addressed. Many feel as though there are double-standards applied in our society (one for police officers and one for regular citizens). How can we think about law, society, and justice in a way that is helpful and meaningful? We are convinced of the power of the Gospel and the healing power of the Word of God. Our hope is to mourn with those who mourn and to begin speaking to our justice system in a prophetic way that begins a movement of transformation back to God’s Standards of justice in society. God says: “Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed. You are righteous, Lord, and your laws are right. The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy.”- Psalm 119:136-138 WARNING: We kept the audio unaltered so that we could all better examine the audio itself. There is swearing in this. No King but Christ! Apologia Studios The post AR #211 – Killing Philando Castile & God’s Law appeared first on Apologia Radio - Christian Podcast and TV Show.

AR #209 – Bernie Sanders Hates Christianity

Did you see the recent hearing in which Senator Bernie Sanders demonstrated his hostility toward the message of Jesus to Russell Vought? On this episode of Apologia Radio we discuss the myth of Pluralism, the dramatic shift in Academia and the Media, and the recent hearing where Senator Sanders demonstrated just how much he despises the Biblical Worldview. How did we get here? It wasn’t long ago that the culture at large would have villified the positions held by men like Sanders and would have understood and (at least minimally) respected the core message of the Biblical Worldview: That Jesus Christ is the only way to peace with God.
