Two of our past guests, John Frankman and Briana Cespedes, join us this week. John is a former Captain in the Army and Green Beret, who was, along with his men, told to wear red armbands to signal that they were unvaccinated. He left the Army due to the Covid mandates. Briana is a former Air Force broadcast journalist. She was put in quarantine for over 140 days in total, being reprimanded for not following what they maintained was a lawful order, and ultimately received a dishonorable discharge.  This week we discuss what they advocated for during the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) week, the signs of a totalitarian society, the need for political and spiritual renewal, and we call upon leaders to remember the Constitution that they swore an oath to follow and defend.  July 2 NDAA update from John and Briana:  We have been proposing amendments to include upgrading discharge statuses to honorable, reinstatement, and the forbidding of future mandates. Nine amendments were proposed for this year’s NDAA but only 3 are to be included in the final draft. Those three are the forbidding of future mask mandates on military installations, conducting a study on effects of vaccines and immunity by the Secretary of Defense, and providing reparations for chaplains negatively effected. We are highly disappointed by the lack of amendments voted through in this upcoming NDAA. After receiving the Covid-19 shots, he refused to submit proof of vaccination to his superiors as he felt it was a violation of his privacy. He was fired, rehired, and then was refused access to do his job. He was eventually labeled a “potential insider threat.”  He is currently being paid not to work and has several active EEO cases. This week, we hear the gripping story of Matt Strickland and his restaurant’s journey over the past couple years. In 2021, when he refused to follow Virginia's COVID regulations, he was sued by the state's Democrat leadership. By the time the case made it to court, Virginia was controlled by a Republican governor and Attorney General, but the state continued to pursue the case. We talk about what he makes of our two dominant political parties walking in step with each other through the Covid era and beyond. Matt Strickland is an Army veteran who enlisted at the age of 17 as a Combat Medic. Matt was assigned to the 25th Infantry at Ft. Lewis where he arrived on September 10, 2001. He also served on Blackwater’s Counter Assault Team and in total spent almost a decade in Iraq and Afghanistan. Later, as a civilian, Matt worked as an Intelligence Analyst for the military. In 2016, he embarked on his dream to be a small business owner opening his first food truck, named Gourmeltz. His business quickly thrived, and Matt opened the restaurant version of Gourmeltz in 2018. As his business was flourishing, Matt, like most small business owners in America, almost lost everything because of the Covid mandate lockdowns. Unlike most small business owners though, Matt fought back. After a lengthy court battle, Matt proved that those mandates were in fact unconstitutional, and he won his case against the state. Liz became a Feds For Freedom class agent in October 2021, when she filed an Equal Employment Opportunities Commission religious discrimination class action complaint along with others at her shipyard.
