#16: How to Build Your Own Superhero, and Why It'll Change Your Life ft. Dave Raymond

I gotta be real, I'm not into sports, and get scared of mascots - you know, those furry creatures that roam populated areas trying to get you to take a picture with them for your family scrapbook? Well, on today's episode, I had the most enriching conversation with the man inside of a world-renowned costume, Dave Raymond, who created the Philly Phanatic. He's since built a career in speeches and workshops where he teaches people the importance of using the Power of Fun, as well as building an alter-ego character for your every day life. It's good stuff. For more on Dave:https://daveraymondspeaks.com/https://daveraymondspeaks.com/newsletter/Join the waitlist for my 21 day language challenge here:https://joclub.world/21-day-language-challenge/Journal with me in JoClub:www.joclub.world (use notyouraveragejopodcast at checkout for 50% off your first month)! For more on Instagram:Show's account: https://www.instagram.com/notyouraveragejopod/My account: https://www.instagram.com/jo_francoJournal Prompts: https://www.instagram.com/joclub_/YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/jofranco Hosted on Acast. #15: How Journaling Changed Our Lives

Journaling is scientifically proven to better your mood, state of mind, and overall health. That's not a mystery, but what was a mystery is what would happen if I coupled the habit of journaling with live sessions with people from all around the world. Would we be brave enough to read the pages from our journals? Turns out, we were, and now JoClub, the journal club, has grown to over 100 members in all corners of the world. Today, I speak to three of them who have been with me for over two years. Because when you're building something that's never been done before, your best bet is to get feedback from the people you're building it for.Special thanks to Hanna, Luke, and Gaby for being lovely interviewees.Join the waitlist for my 21 day challenge here:https://joclub.world/21-day-language-challenge/Journal with me in JoClub:www.joclub.world (use notyouraveragejopodcast at checkout for 50% off your first month)! For more on Instagram:Show's account: https://www.instagram.com/notyouraveragejopod/My account: https://www.instagram.com/jo_francoJournal Prompts: https://www.instagram.com/joclub_/ Hosted on Acast. #13: Thoughts on War, Getting Shot 5 Years Ago, and Life's Fragility

My 5 year anniversary of getting shot happened this week, and I always use this time to reset, reflect, and remember life's fragility. The war in Ukraine has shaken the world at it's core, fears of escalation have never been greater, and headlines are indicative of how sick our society is right now, so I think we're all in need of a little "evaluation." As we try and navigate this new normal of daunting headlines and grim prospects for the future, I wanted to not only capture this time in history, but also think about how to balance the big picture scary things, with not forgetting the every day blessings we do have. There are journal prompts that I highly suggest you journal:What is something you can do now, that you couldn't do last year?Do you celebrate the things you have? What can you do right now to feel more alive?YouTube videos to learn more about the war:By Johnny Harris before the invasion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJNtfyq3TDEBy RealLifeLore after the invasion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If61baWF4GEFor global discussions: Join Joclub (www.joclub.world) for live journaling sessions and use promo code notyouraveragejo for 50% off your first month.Learn a language, become a bridge to the world: Sign up for my 21 day language challenge here (https://joclub.world/21-day-language-challenge/).For more on Instagram:Show's account: https://www.instagram.com/notyouraveragejopod/Jo Franco Account: https://www.instagram.com/jo_francoJournal Prompts on JoClub: https://www.instagram.com/joclub_/ Hosted on Acast. #11: How to Trust and Believe in the Journey ft. Shaun T. (this one's pure gold)

This is the first time I've fangirled... excuse my squeals. This episode is award-worthy and essential if you want a good boost of positivity in your life. Today, I chat with Shaun T., celebrity fitness motivator, and a brilliant man who's motivated people in much more than just the physical sense. He's gone through challenges that had the potential to break anyone's spirit, and instead, he rose to the top with his inner light and made a career of inspiring others to do the same. Can you tell I'm a super fan? This man is the reason I started working out when I was 12 years old gettin' it with his Hip Hop Abs DVD in the attic that was the seed that grew a motivated lifestyle all-together where I would create a podcast about not being average and get the chance to interview him... Coincidence?! I think not.For more of Shaun T.:Shaun's Podcast, Trust and BelieveShaun's InstagramT Is for Transformation - Shaun's book!Join the JoClub membership to take these journal prompts and talk to the world in real timewww.joclub.world (use notyouraveragejo at checkout for 50% off your first month)! For more on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/notyouraveragejopod/https://www.instagram.com/jo_francohttps://www.instagram.com/joclub_/ Hosted on Acast.
