Jason Worthy- 15 years all career with Pelham-Batesville Fire Department in South Carolina. A newly promoted Lieutenant on platform 55. Jason was around the fire service most of his life while being able to watch his father perform blue collar work. Jason believes in physical fitness and that it is paramount we continue pushing forward making positive strides rising to the best level of our ability for the ones who will need us most. Scott Hewlett- 25 years with the City Of Brampton Fire/Emergency Services in Canada where he holds the rank of Firefighter 1st class also known as a backstep. What challenges they have faced, how they made it through them, the struggles they see for our service, and their ideas on how each of us can help progress in the job. Kane Nixon- 20 years of career and volunteer experience. Currently a Deputy Chief with the Arizona Fire/Medical Authority in Arizona. Chief Nixon noticed a short coming within Fire Departments around the country and started the “I Care Movement” which emphasizes a journey of transformation and empowerment. A new era of leadership that begins with caring for ourselves, our people and our communities. Sean Ryan- 21 years of career and volunteer experience. Currently the Lead instructor for Albermarle County Fire/Rescue in Virginia. From the moment Sean talks anything regarding the fire service you will have no doubt on how much love and drive he has for the service. Sean was able to battle a huge obstruction that came into his life and I believe your mindset plays a huge part in obtaining a positive outcome. Ben Peel- 14 years career and volunteer fire experience. Currently a Captain on Engine 1 with Georgetown Fire rescue in Kentucky. Training Trustee with the Central Kentucky FOOLS group. One of Ben’s responsibilities outside of being a husband and father is lead coordinator for the Georgetown Fire Symposium. That’s right his own Fire Department hosts training events for the men and women of their department allowing for great outside training and lecture opportunities. Even though JP is young into his fire service career the responsibilities bestowed upon him with his department having to do more with less is eye opening.
