5 Ways to Live Life with No Regrets
[[:encoded, "If you really think about it, life is pretty short. You are born, you go to school, you move out… then comes a career, you sell the business, and then you are into the retirement years. Pretty soon, you are reminiscing about the beginning and the journey that followed… but what will you say? Will you be happy with your decisions through life, or will you feel like you missed the boat on what you could have really accomplished? Will you feel good about the choices you made?\n\nAs a successful business owner, you have no doubt made some good decisions… but have you really done everything that you want to do? When you retire or are in a financial independence situation, will you look back and think to yourself ‘I did everything that I wanted to do’, or will you look back and think to yourself ‘wow, I could have done SO much more’? In light of this question, we are exploring five tips for living a life with no regrets. Being the person who you REALLY want to be, might be scary or difficult at times, but these five tips will help you to see the logical side of such a notion. \n\n1… Have a BIG goal and work towards it\nNot having a big goal in mind can really cause you to move slowly along to some final undermined outcome. If you don’t have a real, concise goal in mind, you might go through life feeling like you have no purpose. When you look back years later, you might think to yourself… ‘wow, I could have done so much. I just didn’t have any real game plan to move me in the right direction’. Having a big goal to work towards gives your life a direction and a purpose. \n\nA lot of people have passions and desires, but rarely are these feelings ever channeled into a specific purpose. A lot of people look back and are disappointed that they never got to do certain things… and they also fail to realize that passions and desires that are not coupled with a goal to work towards almost NEVER amount to much of anything. \n\n\"If you don't know where you are going, you will end up somewhere else.\" \n- Yogi Berra\n\n2… Be a positive person\nGoing through life as a grumpy, negative, nasty individual is not going to make you feel very good as you reach the end. Positive people have a way of making others feel good about themselves. They help people around them to see the good within themselves in all situations. Being this type of person is going to reward you a LOT more in life than being a negative type of person. In fact, a lot of very negative and unfriendly peoUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! Overcoming Your Accountability Apprehension
[[:encoded, "Many people suffer from accountability apprehension. They feel that opening themselves up to scrutiny from others will leave them vulnerable, and – sometimes – even worry that this window into their successes and failures can hold them back in any business or workplace. While this may have been true years ago, the fact is that today’s culture is one that is obsessed with personal growth, and looks favorably on individuals that take intentional measures to become better, more productive, more positive versions of themselves.\n\nJoseph Folkman, a behavioral statistician and a contributor to Forbes, says, “Personal accountability is a critical step toward improving leadership. When people are accountable for their own decisions, work, and results, the effectiveness of an organization can greatly increase.”\n\nHe conducted a study of 40,000 leaders and found incredible insights into the role accountability plays in the lives of highly successful and incredibly impactful leaders. If it works for these respected, successful individuals, the rest of us should definitely stand up and take note. \n\nAccountability Breeds Trust\n\nIn his study, Joseph Folkman found that, “the three pillars that build trust are positive relationships, knowledge, and consistency of leaders.” When we open ourselves up to the idea of being help accountable for our words and actions, we will become more reliable and consistent. We work to eliminate blind spots in our personal character, and thus mold ourselves into more trustworthy and dependable individuals. Knowledge is, after all, powerful, and gaining knowledge about ourselves and our habits is often best gained through outside voices speaking truth into our lives.\n\nDoes this sometimes mean being vulnerable and admitting mistakes? Absolutely. But would you rather be someone that can never right a wrong, or would you like to be known as the kind of person that is willing to be humble, and to learn and grow? Truly successful individuals know that growth and personal integrity are priceless, and are willing to do what it takes to level up these areas of their lives. \n\nAccountability Leads to Increased Flexibility\n\nGoing back to the study that charted the information from 40,000 business leaders, it was discovered that the most effective leaders “were good at instituting change because they were effective at the following behaviors: accepting feedback, taking on challenges, innovating, spreading optimism, showing concern, and Unlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! Inspiring Greatness in Your Employees
[[:encoded, "One of the most important tasks you as a business owner will undertake is getting employees to buy into your vision for the company and take ownership over their roles. An uninspired workforce can tank a company’s productivity and financial growth faster than almost anything else. \n\nThe people you hire to be the hands and faces of your company are out there every day representing you – they are either happily showcasing all the wonderful things about your company, or they are bringing it down with poor attitudes or a lack of enthusiasm. \n\nSo how do you inspire greatness in those that work for you? How do you promote a company vibe of inclusion, ownership and high morale?\n\nGive Them Unhindered Opportunities to Do Things Their Way\n\nNo two people are alike. We all approach problem solving and communication with a unique perspective and set of skills. When you require employees to only do things your way, you run the risk of potentially hindering them from doing their best work. You also keep them from bringing to the proverbial table all the unique skills and abilities that they have hiding inside. \n\nMicromanaging employees is a fast track to workplace dissatisfaction. It not only heaps more onto your already-full plate, but it also subtly sends the message to the people you have hired that you do not trust them to figure out how to do an exceptional job on their own. However, if you did a thorough job vetting candidates when you first hired your employees, you should be able to trust them to do the job you hired them for. Not only that, you should be able to freely give them room to grow in that role and to approach their work in the way that best fits their personality and perspective. \n\nIf you hired a bubbly and vivacious client manager that loves small talk, don’t require him or her to tone it down when speaking to clients. Perhaps you would not spend five minutes chatting up a client before digging into the details of an overdue invoice or scheduling their next appointment, but that does not mean it is wrong for your employee to work that way. \n\nBy allowing them to bring their unique voice and outlook to their tasks, you empower them to take ownership over that role. Not only that, but the chances of them staying with your company long-term increase dramatically, because they will feel appreciated, needed, and invested. \n\nHelp them Learn and Include Them in Company Growth Conversations\n\nOne of the fastest ways to alienate employees Unlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! How Do You Change Limiting Beliefs?
[[:encoded, "If you have ever struggled to find success, or had a difficult time moving into the next level in your business or in your personal life, it could be due to limiting beliefs or perspectives that are putting a lid on your potential. In some cases, these beliefs could be mindsets you are not even aware of! \n\nOur beliefs are like guiding lights that lead us and guide our decision-making process. How we view ourselves and the world around us determines how we react to both good and bad situations. In certain cases, our beliefs about what we deserve and what we are capable of can propel us to incredible heights. However, if our beliefs about ourselves put our abilities in a box, we can stunt our own growth and cause ourselves to miss opportunities we were qualified for. \n\nHow You Speak to Yourself Matters\n\nThere is both death and life in the power of the tongue. The words we speak to others can either bring them up or tear them down. This is something everyone knows and widely accepts – but did you know that the same is true of the words you speak over yourself? The constant running dialogue we have in our minds throughout the day serves as the quiet narration of our lives – and it plays a big role in our success or failure. \n\nIf you were to write down everything you thought about yourself in a single day, would it be mostly positive or mostly negative? When you take on a task at work, do your thoughts say, “I can do this; it is important!” Or do you think, “This is boring; it is not going to be a good day.” “I don’t like making prospecting calls, but I have to do it even though I don’t want to.” One sets a positive tone and one sets a negative tone – and the crazy part is, most of the time whatever we think becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. \n\nIf we approach our work with a bad attitude, thinking the day will not go well, chances are high that it will indeed turn into a day filled with grumpiness and frustration. On the other hand, if we look at the day with positivity and joy, we will likely head home after the day is done and realize that we accomplished quite a lot and had fun doing it, or at least realized it wasn’t so bad.\n\nYour Limiting Beliefs Are Likely Ingrained Deeply in Your Subconscious\n\nThe way we view ourselves and our capabilities is something that starts becoming established in childhood, and then becomes solidified as we grow older. They often manifest themselves in the excuses we make when life does not go the way we want iUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 5 Benefits Focus Brings to Your Life and Work
[[:encoded, "Do you multi-task? Do you know that those who multi-task are not as effective or as efficient as those who focus their efforts on one task at a time? It’s true. When you divide your efforts and your thoughts among different and differing tasks, you are doing a disservice to yourself and to the tasks you’re attempting to finish. \n\nWhen you’re focused, you are honing in on the completion of one task. Focus helps you give all your attention to the project in front of you. Focus also helps you complete more projects rather than having multiple projects in various stages of completion. You will feel better, happier and more motivated to work on the next task when you can cross one off your current to-do list. \n\nLet’s explore five benefits that focus will bring to your work and your life. \n\n1.\tYour stress levels will plummet. When you’re focusing on more than one task at a time you will feel overwhelmed. Lack of focus makes you feel as though you have too much to do and not enough time to do it. In fact, you probably don’t have as much on your plate as you imagine, you just have too many things on your plate in various stages of completion, but you’re not checking anything off your to-do list. It’s the multiple incomplete projects that add to your stress and to your feeling of overwhelm. Focus will enhance your clarity and that will let you clearly see the path ahead and allows you to focus your efforts toward making great progress. When you’re not focused you likely feel unmotivated, frustrated and more stressed! \n\n2.\tFocus enhances momentum. When you see that you’re completing items and checking them off the to-do list, you feel more motivated to keep up that forward momentum. Making progress is motivating. Seeing progress encourages you to work harder. The snowball effect of making progress is motivating! \n\n3.\tYou will be more engaged. If you have a vested interest in completing a specific project you will be more engaged in it. Chances are you’re not afraid of hard work, but you are fearful or tired of feeling overwhelmed. When you’re overwhelmed, you feel as though “nothing, or not much, is getting done” and that is not motivating. When you’re on a winning team – even if you’re the only one on the team! – you are more engaged in the outcome and the steps to get you there. \n\n4.\tFocus helps you feel in control. When you’re focused, you are in control of the tasks in front of you and in the steps to achieve the goal. Removing distractions, Unlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! Effective Communication That Gets Results
[[:encoded, "“Don’t communicate to be understood; rather, communicate so as not to be misunderstood” said Dr. John Lund, a well-known author and researcher in the field of human relationships – specifically in the area of communication. This subtle distinction is incredibly important, because it puts the responsibility of understanding on the shoulders of the communicator, not the audience. If you want to communicate with your team and your clients in a way that gets the results you want, you must speak with them in a way that they receive information best, and anticipate their thoughts and needs before you ever enter into a conversation with them.\n\nMost people enter into a conversation that you are about to have with them wondering:\n\n•\tWhat do they want from me?\n•\tHow long is this going to take?\n•\tDo I care about what they are saying to me?\n•\tHow is what they are saying going to help or benefit me?\n\nIf you are speaking with employees, they may also be thinking:\n\n•\tAm I in trouble; have I done something wrong?\n•\tIs my workload going to be made heavier?\n•\tI have work to finish before I can go home - how long will this take?\n\nIf you can find a way to manage conversation expectations from the very beginning, the chances of the person you are speaking to actually listening to what you have to say and engaging with you goes up exponentially.\n\nClearly State Your Purpose\n\nBefore you get into the meat of the conversation with a client or employee, it is best to come right out and address what the conversation is about and also address any of the previously mentioned questions they may be thinking. This could look like:\n\n“Hello (client name), I wanted to talk to you about (state your purpose or conversation goal) – it should only take about fifteen minutes and I really think that it will benefit you personally/your business/your bottom line/etc.” In just a few short words, you have clearly outlined what you expect to discuss with them, you have offered them an idea of how long you expect the discussion to take, and you have outlined a glimpse of how you think the conversation topic will benefit or affect them. \n\nIf you need to speak with an employee about a disciplinary issue, for example, you could say, “Hello (employee name); I need to discuss (state the infraction) with you; it should only take a few minutes, and while I am disappointed to have to address this with you, I value you as an employee and think we can work through this quickly toUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! How to Reduce Distractions and Interruptions
[[:encoded, "Putting in a full, productive workday is sometimes easier said than done. Despite the best of intentions, some days can just seem to get away from you – turning into emergency response days or employee management days that – although necessary to keep things running smoothly – nevertheless take away from the precious time you have available to complete what is on your to-do list. \n\nUnmanaged distractions can slowly chip away at your ability to focus on necessary, high payoff activities that move your business toward success. In some cases, those distractions can actually lead to calculation errors or financial errors that cost you big time in the long run. If you find yourself continually interrupted by people or your own thoughts, it can also take a toll on your overall attitude and even your mental state at the office. The bottom line is: if you always feel unsettled and anxious about getting interrupted, it will keep you from doing your best work. \n\nSo, how can you reduce distractions and avoid interruptions? Is it even possible to create a work environment that is productive and avoids emergencies altogether? \n\nSet Your Team and Your Schedule Up for Success\n\nWhile it is virtually impossible to eliminate all of the last-minute issues that crop up during the week (you are after all a business owner with a busy schedule and a company to run, and if issues arise you need to be the one with the last word on how they are handled), it is definitely possible to structure your business in such a way as to significantly reduce the amount of times you are pulled away from productive tasks to focus on something unplanned. \n\nTo improve your workplace schedule and eliminate distractions and interruptions, try implementing one or more of these 4 proven productivity tips I’m going to share with you now:\n\n1.\tSchedule your day in blocks of 60-90 minutes at a time whenever possible. This allows you to focus on specific big-picture tasks without being distracted, since there are consistent breaks in your day between these blocks where you can get refocused on the next activities by fully closing out the previous activity. For shorter tasks, consider 10-15-minute sprints, where you can knock out several quick but vital tasks (answering emails, returning client calls, and more) without fear of interruptions. Scheduling meetings with the team is a time block that can take 10-30 minutes, so nobody interrupts anyone with things that can be handled in a schedulUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today!
