Grant, Dan and Jedi sat down to chat about this weird week in crypto. Grant had his tinfoil hat on discussing a series of crypto conspiracy theories that could be potentially playing out. The CRV founder has an extremely large on-chain loan of over $60m dollars against a $180m CRV position which Gauntlet (a crypto risk assessment firm) has advised AAVE to freeze CRV deposits for this account to prevent bad debt building up in the system on Ethereum mainnet. On top of that, we discussed the recent mini depeg of USDT and why USDT depegged at all. We also discussed the recent revelation of Prometheum and their weird bootlicking of the SEC. Prometheum is a company that has come out of nowhere and is trying to position itself as the regulatory-compliant broker-dealer of the digital asset space in the US. Something feels fishy here.
