Epic story of Survival in Utah, Saved by his Dog
Support Jakes GoFundMe, to help him literally get back on his feet. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-jake-rebuild-after-his-5mile-crawl-to-safety?utm_campaign=fp_sharesheet&utm_content=amp13_t1&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=native_options&lang=en_US&attribution_id=sl%3A9cebc3bd-d95f-4928-a3cc-2ef498a65476&ts=1754347978Story of overcoming the odds in the backcountry of the Uintah mountains. A man in Utah, identified as Jacob "Jake" Schmitt, recently survived a serious incident in the Uinta Mountains by crawling for 11 hours to safety after crashing his side-by-side vehicle. The Incident and the Fight for Survival while spotting for deer with his dog "Buddy", Schmitt's vehicle reportedly lost control and rolled "15-20 times" down a mountainside. He sustained a broken leg, fractured ankles, and broken ribs in the crash. With his phone lost and only the light on Buddy's collar for illumination, Schmitt made the courageous decision to crawl down the mountain, knowing he faced a fight for survival. He reportedly splinted his leg himself before starting his agonizing journey. Buddy the hero dog throughout the 11-hour ordeal, Buddy, a 6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, stayed by Schmitt's side. Schmitt credits Buddy with helping him through the ordeal, explaining how his dog would heel when needed, providing light and motivation to keep going. Rescue and recovery by day break, Schmitt reached his truck and drove to a diner in Oakley, where a staff member called 911. He was taken to Park City Hospital, where he remained for four days before being discharged and returning home with Buddy. A GoFundMe page was set up to help with medical expenses and had raised over $15,000 as of July 31st. Lessons learned Schmitt's story emphasizes the importance of preparedness, including being able to perform self-rescue and carrying essential supplies, even for seemingly short trips into the backcountry. He advises others to "learn how to do everything with nothing". His experience is a testament to resilience, the will to live, and the power of the human-animal bond in the face of adversity. Stop Appeasing Everyone: Walking in Faith is a Lonely Road
1. Galatians 1:10 (ESV)“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God?Or am I trying to please man?If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”2. Matthew 7:13–14 (ESV)“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”3. Faith is Resilience
Guys I do PREACHING TO THE CHOIR every Sunday. If you like these Sunday episodes let me know in comments and I'll keep posting them here and on Spotify. Thank you! Happy Sunday!Mike GloverResilience is faith1. Trust God’s Timing Even When You Don’t UnderstandLesson: God’s plan often unfolds in ways we can’t see or understand in the moment. Faith means trusting that He is working behind the scenes even in delays, detours, and suffering.Scripture:“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”— Jeremiah 29:11Takeaway: When life feels out of control, remember that God’s plan is not to break you, but to build you. Stay rooted in the knowledge that He sees the bigger picture.2. Keep Your Eyes on Jesus, Not the StormLesson: When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we stay steady no matter how chaotic the world around us becomes.Scripture:“Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’”— Matthew 14:29–30Takeaway: Fear creeps in when we shift our focus from Christ to our circumstances. Keep your eyes on Him. That’s how you walk through storms without sinking.3. Stay the Course Through TrialsLesson: Trials test and refine our faith. Endurance through difficulty produces spiritual maturity and keeps us aligned with God’s will.Scripture:“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”— James 1:2–3Takeaway: Hard times are not the end they’re the preparation. God uses pressure to refine, not to destroy. Stay faithful through the fire.Thank you! join me on the following accounts to hear and read more!Join my SUBSTACKhttps://mikeglover.substack.comJoin my Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/mikegloverYouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/@mikeforcepodcast

The system has failed our VETERANS pt. 2
On this podcast pt. 2, I sit down with the Neysa Holmes-wife of Erick Holmes. Erick selflessly served as a green beret, including 5 combat rotations to war. He suffers from diagnosed and admitted PTS and TBI. Throughout his journey he’s pleaded for help and was repeatedly denied from a broken Veteran Affairs and Justice system. We discuss this journey from a wife’s perspective and the challenges that brought her to step up and fight against the lack of process, empathy, and medical treatment available to our most vulnerable and deserving citizens-our combat veterans. Follow Neysa Holmes and check out her site to support her journey against a broken system that has abandoned her husband.
