Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Mk 12:1-12 - Jesus began to speak to the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders in parables. "A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and left on a journey. At the proper time he sent a servant to the tenants to obtain from them some of the produce of the vineyard. But they seized him, beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. Again he sent them another servant. And that one they beat over the head and treated shamefully. He sent yet another whom they killed. So, too, many others; some they beat, others they killed. He had one other to send, a beloved son. He sent him to them last of all, thinking, 'They will respect my son.' But those tenants said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' So they seized him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come, put the tenants to death, and give the vineyard to others. What will heaven be like? Jesse Romero and Terry Barber are wise in turning to Saint Thomas Aquinas' Suma Theologica for the answer. As Doctor of the Catholic Church, Aquinas describes what Heaven is and how it works. There is no time for silly questions like "Will dogs go to heaven?". We want to know the crazier things, we want to find out about Glory! Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Mk 10:1-12 - Jesus came into the district of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds gathered around Him and, as was His custom, He again taught them. The Pharisees approached Him and asked, "Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?" They were testing Him. He said to them in reply, "What did Moses command you?" They replied, "Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of divorce and dismiss her." But Jesus told them, "Because of the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this commandment. But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. The backlash from Harrison Butker's Speech is the latest example of how troubling it can get to speak even the most basic truths about the Faith.
